Purpose: To investigate the interrelationship between body mass index (BMI), venous sinus pressure (VSP), and craniospinal elastance in determining lumbar puncture opening pressure (LP OP) in idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH).
Methods: A single-center retrospective chart review was conducted to identify patients who received venous manometry (8/2021-11/2025) followed by LP within 7 days before stenting. VSPs were measured at standardized locations, including the torcula (TP) and sigmoid/jugular (SIJ) sinuses. Elastance was calculated as (OP – closing pressure)/volume of CSF removed. Statistical analysis (JASP 0.19.3) was performed using generalized linear model (Gaussian identity; scaled center) to assess relationships between LP OP, BMI, …

• In 2020, 6.7 million individuals in the United States were older than 85. This is projected to increase to 12.6 million in 20601
• The risk of developing many spinal conditions increases with age2,3,4
• Decreases in disk height changes the loadbearing properties of the spine
• Decreased bone density makes the vertebrae susceptible to fracture
• Weakening of spinal ligaments predispose to disc degeneration
• Hypertrophy of the ligamentum flavum and susceptibility to disk herniation can lead to spinal stenosis
• Damage of the cervical spinal cord can manifest as weakness and clumsiness in the upper extremities and …
Safety Profile Of Spinal Cord Stimulator Paddle Lead Revision And Replacement, Saini Kethireddy, Michael Staudt
Safety Profile Of Spinal Cord Stimulator Paddle Lead Revision And Replacement, Saini Kethireddy, Michael Staudt

- Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is a neuromodulatory treatment for patients experiencing chronic pain resistant to conservative therapies. It is often used for postlaminectomy syndrome, complex regional pain syndrome, and neuropathic pain.
- SCS leads can be categorized into percutaneous leads and paddle leads, the latter requiring a laminectomy for implantation.
- The advantages of paddle leads include lower migration rates and more efficient energy delivery.
- Revision surgery may be required in instances of lead failure, migration or misplacement. Paddle lead replacement can be challenging due to extensive scar tissue formation, often requiring additional dissection.
- Reoperation for paddle leads has raised concerns about …

Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder stemming from the loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra, resulting in impaired neuronal activation which primarily affects the body’s motor function1. Common symptoms include tremor, rigidity, akinesia and loss of balance.
PD also exerts significant effects on sleep patterns. The Default Mode Network (DMN), a series of hubs in the brain with increased metabolic rate during rest, are implicated in the process of dreaming2. Differential activation of these regions may alter the content and quality of one’s dreams2. PD has been shown to impact the function of the DMN and as …

Patients who experience a stroke while hospitalized have a higher mortality rate than those who present to the emergency department. Our plan is to utilize technology to allow the stroke provider to evaluate the patient while in their hospital room, instead of waiting until the patient is in the CT scanner. Utilizing technology of an iPad for inpatient code strokes will allow for quicker assessment of the patient, resulting in faster treatment decision for this population.
Utilizing Ai Integrated Neuroimaging Technology To Expand Upon Machine Learning In Positron Emission Tomography Technology With The Aim Of Detecting Amyloid Beta Biomarkers Early In The Onset Of Alzheimer's., Ethan S. Terman
Undergraduate Research Posters
Early intervention in Alzheimer's is vital for treatment. The earlier a professional can detect symptoms and make a diagnosis the earlier a prognosis can be implemented. With the prevalence of data in our day-to-day world combined with Artificial intelligence (AI), utilizing both for machine learning can pave the way for more accurate and efficient detection of Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases. AI combined with Machine learning (ML) increases diagnostic efficiency and reduces human errors, making it a valuable resource for physicians and clinicians alike. With the increasing amount of data processing and image interpretation required, the ability to use AI …
Magnetic Resonance Neuroblate Fusion For Treating Glioblastomas, Amanda Goldy
Magnetic Resonance Neuroblate Fusion For Treating Glioblastomas, Amanda Goldy
Student Research Poster Presentations 2021
The Neuroblate Fusion system utilizes magnetic resonance guided laser therapy to ablate tumors and lesions. The system requires the use of Laser Interstitial Thermo Therapy (LITT) to activate thermocoagulation and focus of tissue destruction. This is a minimally invasive alternative to traditional brain surgery, giving patients a shorter recovery time and fewer complications. Neuroblate Fusion may also be an additional treatment to chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Neuroblate Fusion is best used for treating glioblastomas in the brain and occasionally for reducing the potential for seizures. Under sterile conditions, a small burr hole is made in the patient’s skull which allows …
