BACKGROUND: People with SMI have often been excluded in advocacy efforts focused on physical health, health care and health and social policy.

OBJECTIVE: Following a Photovoice project focused on barriers to healthy eating and physical activity in urban neighbourhoods, participant-researchers were invited to present their insights in community advocacy settings. The purpose of this study was to explore the feasibility and participant-researchers' experience of these community advocacy activities.

DESIGN: We held four focus groups with the eight participant-researchers after each community advocacy activity to explore their experience with public speaking, presenting their experiences and advocating.

Integrative medicine and general medicine have multiple areas of intersection. Studies can evaluate mental and physical disorders such as depression or anxiety or chronic pain and fatigue. Studies can evaluate psychological symptoms associated with other medical and neurological disorders. It is important to establish efficacy and also mechanism. BACKGROUND: A family history of diabetes and family members' experiences with diabetes may influence individuals' beliefs and expectations about their own diabetes. No qualitative studies have explored the relationship between family history and experiences and individuals' diabetes illness representations.

METHODS: Secondary data analysis of 89 exploratory, semi-structured interviews with adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes seeking care in an urban health system. Participants had a recent diabetes-related ED visit/hospitalization or hemoglobin A1c > 7.5%. Interviews were conducted until thematic saturation was achieved. • During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was an anticipated increase in the number of patients admitted with COVID-19.

BACKGROUND: Since 2008, the United States has issued between 2,000 and 19,000 Special Immigrant Visas (SIV) annually, with the majority issued to applicants from Iraq and Afghanistan. Introduction: In the United States, individuals aged 13-24 made up 21% of new HIV infections in 2016. In 2018, the FDA approved tenofovir/emtricitabine as HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for adolescents aged 15-17. In 2019, we examined adolescent PrEP prescribing practices among family medicine physicians at an academic family medicine practice.

Methods: Physicians were invited to complete an online questionnaire assessing PrEP knowledge, attitudes, and prescribing practices. Differences in PrEP knowledge and attitudes among providers who prescribe PrEP to adolescents versus those who do not were examined using independent samples t-tests.

Background

Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP)¹: a multi faceted, volunteer led, hospital based program has been shown to:

• Reduce the incidence of delirium
• Decrease length of stay
• Reduce hospital costs

Implementation of such a program requires upfront investment.

A smaller, volunteer based visitation program for older adults was started to provide support for the allocation of hospital resources in delirium prevention and establishment of HELP in this institution.

This research aims to investigate the program’s implementation and impact on delirium specific outcomes.

Aim 1: To increase the percentage of JFMA diabetic patients with up-to-date retinopathy screening to 60% by April 1, 2019.

Aim 2: To increase the utilization of an in-office portable retinal scanner by identifying current barriers to its use and developing a standardized workflow to overcome these barriers.

Outcome measure: The percentage of adult diabetic patients with a JFMA provider listed as the PCP who have been seen in the Jefferson health system within the last 24 months, who had retinopathy screening once in the last 24 months.

Process measure: The number of retinal scans completed each week.
