Transformative Medicine
The year 2025 marked another strong chapter in pharmaceutical innovation, with multiple novel therapies gaining approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). These approvals reflect continued progress in addressing unmet medical needs across a wide range of disease states. This article reviews the FDA’s 2025 novel drug approvals, spotlighting a few therapeutic advancements and emerging trends. A comprehensive table of all approved agents is provided, along with a focused discussion of four particularly impactful therapies: donidalorsen (Dawnzera), taletrectinib (Ibtrozi), delgocitinib (Anzupgo), gepotidacin (Blujepa), etripamil (Cardamyst). Each of these agents represents a step forward in its respective field and …

Introduction
Erythrodermic psoriasis is a rare form of psoriasis, occurring in less than 3% of patients with psoriasis. Limited information is known regarding diagnosis and treatment for this form of psoriasis, with most studies involving small groups or single patients. This unusual case of erythrodermic psoriasis outlines the presentation, diagnosis, and treatment that occurred in a 53-year-old patient who initially presented with dyspnea and a fever.
Case Presentation
The 53-year-old patient was originally admitted for dyspnea and a fever. A maculopapular rash developed diffusely on the upper extremities, lower extremities, trunk, and face. The rash then desquamated over several days, …

Preparedness For And Management Of Conditions Of The Skin, Louis D. Mancano Md
Transformative Medicine
Over one-quarter of the US population seeks treatment for a dermatologic condition each year. Studies have indicated that the general medical school curriculum places little emphasis on diseases of the skin, and physicians may be ill-prepared to diagnose and manage these conditions. A better understanding of the seven corticosteroid classes and the variety of vehicles in which they are formulated may improve patient satisfaction, patient adherence, and clinical response to treatment when managing conditions of the skin.

Nitrofurantoin-Induced Radiation Recall Dermatitis., Ian Garrahy, Daniel Forman
Reading Hospital Internal Medicine Residency
Radiation recall dermatitis (RRD) is an inflammatory skin reaction that develops in a previously quiescent radiation field triggered most commonly by chemotherapy, particularly anthracyclines and taxanes. Radiation-recall dermatitis secondary to antibiotic therapy is quite rare. The patient is 61-year-old female with a history of squamous cell carcinoma of the left breast treated with neoadjuvant carboplatin, paclitaxel, and anthracycline chemotherapy followed by surgery and subsequent whole breast radiation 6040 cGy. Eight years after completion of her radiation she developed diffuse redness of the left breast after two doses of nitrofurantoin taken for a urinary tract infection. On examination, vital signs were …

Acute Generalized Exanthematous Pustulosis (AGEP) is a rare drug reaction manifesting as pustular lesions with surrounding erythema following exposure. The disease is often self-limited and treatment is supportive. It may present in an atypical variant with vesicles that desquamate into erosions, which classifies the disease as an AGEP/SJS Overlap. This overlap syndrome can carry a substantial mortality rate and necessitate elevation in the level of care. Hydroxychloroquine has been implicated in cases of AGEP, and we present a case of AGEP/SJS overlap attributed to this common medication. Given the prevalence of drug eruptions, it is critical for the physicians to …
