Background The objective of this study was to determine the favorable effects of multimineral-vitamin D supplementation on pregnancy outcomes among women at risk for preeclampsia. Patients and methods This randomized double-blind controlled clinical trial was conducted among 46 women at risk for preeclampsia at 27 weeks of gestation, with positive roll-over test. Pregnant women were randomly assigned to receive either the multimineral-vitamin D supplements (n = 23) or the placebo (n = 23) for 9 weeks. Objective To assess the role of sildenafil in perioperative management of patients with pulmonary hypertension undergoing lower limb vascular surgery. Patients and methods Twenty-four patients with pulmonary hypertension presented for lower limb vascular surgery were divided into equal groups, group 1 and group 2, each group having 12 patients. Result As regards demographic data, mean arterial pressure, and heart rate there were no statistically significant differences between both groups. Patients and methods This study was carried on 60 pregnant women with placenta previa (after 30 weeks gestation). Solid pseudopapillary epithelial neoplasm (SPEN) of the pancreas is a rare neoplasm of the pancreas accounting for only 0.17–2.7% of all pancreatic neoplasms, often detected initially on imaging. Despite advances in imaging, pseudocysts and other cystic neoplasms feature in the differential diagnosis. We report a case of solid pseudopapillary epithelial neoplasm in a young female who presented with a progressively increasing abdominal lump in whom the diagnosis was considered based on imaging studies. She underwent exploratory laparotomy, pancreaticoduodenectomy, pancreaticojejunostomy, hepaticojejunostomy, gastrojejunostomy, and made an uneventful recovery in the postoperative period. Spatial transcriptomics are a collection of genomic technologies that have enabled transcriptomic profiling on tissues with spatial localization information. Analyzing spatial transcriptomic data is computationally challenging, as the data collected from various spatial transcriptomic technologies are often noisy and display substantial spatial correlation across tissue locations. Here, we develop a spatially-aware dimension reduction method, SpatialPCA, that can extract a low dimensional representation of the spatial transcriptomics data with biological signal and preserved spatial correlation structure, thus unlocking many existing computational tools previously developed in single-cell RNAseq studies for tailored analysis of spatial transcriptomics.
