Early-onset postpartum depression has been shown to have a unique neurobiological basis compared to major depressive disorder, implying a need for targeted treatments such as the recent Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved brexanolone. In this case report, a woman with a past medical history of major depressive disorder was diagnosed with postpartum depression due to worsening mood with suicidal and homicidal ideations. She was treated with vilazodone and aripiprazole with good effect after consideration of her past medication trials. Objectives: Cervical cancer is the third most common cancer worldwide and the most common cancer among Kenyan women, with an age-standardized incidence rate of 33.8% in 2018. Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) in HIV+ women is over twice as likely to progress in severity compared to HIV- women. Conflicting reports exist as to the efficacy of cryotherapy or loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) as treatment for CIN among HIV+ women. Rationale: A refractory period of falsely negative testing can occur following a systemic allergic reaction to Hymenoptera sting. As a result, blood specific IgE and/or skin prick tests (SPT) for other allergens are often delayed. This retrospective chart review aims to identify the proportion of patients with falsely negative test results in the 6 weeks following an allergic reaction to food, and factors that may affect it. Data regarding the outcomes of oral challenges to trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, azithromycin and cephalexin are limited in Pediatrics.  The goal of this study was to characterize the outcomes and safety of oral challenges to these antibiotics in Pediatrics.

Methods: The bibliometric study was conducted at Aga Khan University, Karachi from April 2021 to June 2021 and comprised database search on Google Scholar used key words "dental implant failures" for studies published between 1990 and 2020. The selected studies were reviewed based on citation count for which the cut-off date was June 1, 2021.

BACKGROUND: Next-generation sequencing (NGS) is an emerging technology that may allow for more sensitive and sophisticated microbial testing of the microbiota of penile prostheses (PP).

AIM: To describe the microorganism profiles of PP explanted for infection, erosion, and mechanical malfunction using NGS.

METHODS: All patients who underwent PP removal by two physicians at two institutions were identified. Differences in alpha diversity (ie, number of species detected, species diversity across samples) and microbiome compositional profiles (Bray-Curtis community dissimilarities) across samples were assessed using ANOVA and PERMANOVA, respectively.

Imbalance in tryptophan (TRP) metabolism and its neuroactive metabolites, serotonin and kynurenine (KYN), is a known pathogenic mechanism underlying neurocognitive impairment. Gut microbiota plays an important role in TRP metabolism, and the production of these neuroactive molecules affects neurocognitive function. Although both HIV infection and normal aging independently induce gut dysbiosis and influence TRP metabolism, their interactive effects on compositional/functional changes in gut microbiota and consequent alterations in TRP metabolites remain largely undetermined.

Objective: To radiographically evaluate the proximal marginal fit of the clinically acceptable metal-ceramic crowns.
Methods: The prospective study was conducted at the dental clinics of Aga Khan University, Karachi, from July to December 2018, and comprised metal-ceramic crowns that were evaluated prior to the cementation. Clinical examinations were conducted by seating the crown on the tooth preparation and visual assessment was done using sharp explorer along the margins. Clinically acceptable crowns were then evaluated on the bite-wing radiograph. Any horizontal or vertical inaccuracy of >0.5mm at the proximal margins was recorded as 'discrepancy'. Hyperfiltration is an important underlying cause of glomerular dysfunction associated with several systemic and intrinsic glomerular conditions leading to chronic kidney disease (CKD). These include obesity, diabetes, hypertension, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), congenital abnormalities and reduced renal mass (low nephron number). Hyperfiltration-associated biomechanical forces directly impact the cell membrane, generating tensile and fluid flow shear stresses in multiple segments of the nephron. However, children are much less likely to have severe COVID-19 disease, and thus the need for extracorporeal support is rare2,3.
