OBJECTIVE: DACH1 is a transcriptional repressor and tumor suppressor gene frequently mutated in melanoma, bladder, and prostate cancer. Loss of DACH1 expression is associated with poor prognostic features and reduced overall survival in uterine cancer. In this study, we utilized the Oncology Research Information Exchange Network (ORIEN) Avatar database to determine the frequency of DACH1 mutations in patients with endometrial cancer in our Kentucky population.

Artificial Intelligence (AI), in general, refers to the machines (or computers) that mimic "cognitive" functions that we associate with our mind, such as "learning" and "solving problem". New biomarkers derived from medical imaging are being discovered and are then fused with non-imaging biomarkers (such as office, laboratory, physiological, genetic, epidemiological, and clinical-based biomarkers) in a big data framework, to develop AI systems. MES tumors show a wide spectrum of morphological features, posing a diagnostic challenge to the pathologist. Sarcomatous (heterologous) elements are seen in a few of these tumors, further complicating the morphological picture. Stent loss during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is uncommon but may lead to serious adverse events. Here we describe a challenging case of stent loss in the radial artery during primary PCI. There, a long stent failed to cross the culprit lesion, and an attempt to pull back the undeployed stent into the guiding catheter resulted in eversion of the stent, partially stripping it off the stent balloon and rendering the stent irretrievable. Retrieval of the stent at all costs might have led to major complications; hence stent deployment in the radial artery bailed us out of this precarious situation.

This is a prospective, single-center cohort study that enrolled sixty-six consecutive patients with diagnosed OSA (5 events/h < apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) < 50 events/h) to be treated with a custom-made titratable MAD. The patients were evaluated polysomnographically with the MAD in situ after the adaptation and titration period of 3 months. The associations between findings during DISE and treatment outcome were assessed.

Methods: This is a retrospective study performed by a single surgeon with minimum 1-year follow-up. LTT was performed using an open (n = 9; 60%) or arthroscopically assisted (n = 6, 40%) technique. We report the case of a 60-year-old woman, presenting with left vocal cord paralysis (VCP). Diagnostic evaluation revealed sarcoidosis to be the underlying pathology. Computed tomography (CT) scans exhibited enlarged subcarinal, pretracheal, and prevascular lymph nodes as the possible mechanism of left VCP through compression of the left recurrent laryngeal nerve. Initial treatment with oral prednisolone and azathioprine led to remission of symptoms; however, tapering of dosage led to relapse of cough without any signs of VCP. The treatment for biotinidase deficiency, a condition that occurs in approximately 1 : 110,000 people, is with biotin (vitamin B7) supplementation.
