Background: Symptomatic stage 2 or 3 scapholunate advanced collapse (SLAC) wrist is aggressively treated with salvage procedures, such as proximal row carpectomy or partial wrist fusion with resultant pain relief but limited motion. We hypothesize that arthroscopic synovectomy, radial styloidectomy, and neurectomy will preserve wrist motion, relieve pain, and delay or avoid salvage procedures. Methods: We evaluated outcomes in 13 wrists through questionnaires and 11 of these through additional physical examination at a mean follow-up of 5.0 years. BACKGROUND:Although the incidence of acute pancreatitis (AP) in children is increasing, management recommendations rely on adult published guidelines. Pediatric-specific recommendations are needed. METHODS:The North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Pancreas committee performed a MEDLINE review using several preselected key terms relating to management considerations in adult and pediatric AP. The literature was summarized, quality of evidence reviewed, and statements of recommendations developed. The authorship met to discuss the evidence, statements, and voted on recommendations. Various tenotomy techniques have been described including open, partial, and percutaneous approaches. Current techniques help most athletes return to sport; however, many develop adductor weakness. Moreover, the procedures lack full visualization of the tendon and do not allow for return to athletes’ preinjury level of play. Purpose and Method: This study examined functional connectivity of the default mode network (DMN) and examined brain–behavior relationships in a pilot cohort of children with chronic mild to moderate traumatic brain injury (TBI). Results: Compared to uninjured peers, children with TBI demonstrated less anti-correlated functional connectivity between DMN and right Brodmann Area 40 (BA 40). In children with TBI, more anomalous less anti-correlated) connectivity between DMN and right BA 40 was linked to poorer performance on response inhibition tasks. © 2017 The clinical-high-risk for psychosis (CHR-P) syndrome is heterogeneous in terms of clinical presentation and outcomes. Identifying more homogenous subtypes of the syndrome may help clarify its etiology and improve the prediction of psychotic illness. This study applied latent class cluster analysis (LCCA) to symptom ratings from the North American Prodrome Longitudinal Studies 1 and 2 (NAPLS 1 and 2). These analyses produced evidence for three to five subgroups within the CHR-P syndrome. Differences in negative and disorganized symptoms distinguished among the subgroups.
