Spondyloarthritis is a group of inflammatory rheumatic diseases characterized by shared clinical features, genetic predispositions, and pathogenic mechanisms. Without appropriate management, it carries a risk of various complications. We report the case of a young male patient with a one-year history of nephrotic syndrome prior to admission, presenting with chronic polyarthritis. Initially, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) with renal and musculoskeletal involvement was suspected, although SLE is relatively uncommon in young males. This study examined the feasibility of extracting DNA from various personal items using the phenol–chloroform–isoamyl alcohol (PCIA) method. A towel, collared shirt, toothbrush, shower puff, comb, hair tie, and buccal swabs were analyzed. The quality of the DNA extraction, along with DNA concentration, purity, and suitability for multiplex PCR amplification, were evaluated. The shower puff exhibited the highest DNA concentration (68.35 ng/µL), whereas the collared shirt yielded the lowest (26.43 ng/µL). All samples exhibited good DNA purity (A260 nm/A280 nm ranging from 1.827 to 1.985), emphasizing the potential of this method for forensic analysis. Introduction. In-depth liver resection profile is needed for evaluation to improve the procedure’s outcome. This study aims to describe the clinical characteristics and outcomes of liver resection in HCC patients in Cipto Mangunkusumo Tertiary Hospital.

Methods. This study retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 19 HCC patients who underwent liver resection in Cipto Mangunkusumo Tertiary Hospital from 2021 to 2024. Demographic, clinical, laboratory, operative, and pathological data were collected. Postoperative complications were assessed using the Clavien-Dindo classification system within 30- and 90-day postoperative periods.

Background: Mucormycosis is a rare fungal infection caused by a group of opportunistic fungi from the class Zygomycetes. Primary cutaneous mucormycosis is the most common type of mucormycosis in immunocompetent patients. This study reported a case of primary cutaneous mucormycosis with nonspecific clinical characteristics and various supporting examinations. The patient was successfully treated with in toto excision and oral ketoconazole.
