Iron deficiency may occur because of inadequate dietary intake, increase in physiological needs of the nutrient, and/or increased losses, which may lead to anemia. IDA has been associated with cognitive, motor, and behavioral impairment in children. The most commonly used tests to determine iron status include serum iron levels, ferritin, and others. Background Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a common primary disorder of neuromuscular transmission, which is characterized by fluctuating weakness of a certain voluntary muscles, particularly those innervated by motor nuclei of the brain stem, that is, ocular and mastication muscles, and caused by antibodies binding to components in the neuromuscular junction. Most MG cases demonstrate elevated serum levels of acetylcholine receptor (ACh-R) antibodies, which cause partial or complete inhibition of receptor function and complement-mediated focal lysis of the postsynaptic membrane. For that reason, a child with hearing loss whose family chooses an auditory approach for learning language must have as much exposure to high-quality auditory stimulation as possible. With the increasing percutaneous arterial interventions utilization worldwide, the number of pseudoaneurysm formation has increased owing to iatrogenic arterial injury. After trauma, injury of subclavian artery early appears, and many complications such as life-threatening bleeding, the creation of pseudoaneurysm, and brachial plexus compression may be caused by the arterial rupture. To detect trunk obesity, which was claimed to be a major cause of insulin resistance, in nonobese patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) by using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scan. A total of 60 normal weight, with BMI less than 25 kg/m2, patients with PCOS were included in the study. DEXA scan was used to assess the body composition of all patients. Patients and methods Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry was used to assess the body composition of 80 patients with RA and 80 healthy controls. Sarcopenia was defined as a relative skeletal muscle index of less than 5.5 kg/m2 in male and less than 7.26 kg/m2 in female patients. Objective The objective of this study was to determine first-line infertility therapy in polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and to compare between clomiphene citrate (CC) and aromatase inhibitors (letrozole) as the standard treatment. Patients and methods This is a prospective randomized study. The study was conducted at El-Galaa Assisted Reproduction Unit, El-Galaa Maternity Teaching Hospital, Cairo, Egypt. Eighty-eight women with PCOS were randomized into two groups. Rotterdam criteria were used to define PCOS: oligomenorrhea less than or equal to 8 menses/year plus either PCOS on ultrasound or clinical/biochemical hyperandrogenism, with the exclusion of other causes. Background Surgery of ovarian endometrioma may have a detrimental effect on ovarian reserve. This study aims to evaluate the effect of laparoscopic cystectomy on serum antimullerian hormone (AMH) in patients with endometrioma. Materials and methods A prospective study was performed at El-Galaa Maternity Teaching Hospital where 60 women with endometriomas underwent laparoscopic cystectomy. Serum AMH, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone, estradiol, and antral follicle count (AFC) were measured preoperatively and at 3 months postoperatively.
