Background: Since the onset of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, there have been growing concerns regarding multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C). This study aims to describe the clinico-epidemiological profile and challenges in management of MIS-C in low-middle income countries by highlighting the Kenyan experience.

Background: Most genital fistulas result from prolonged, obstructed labor or surgical complications. Other causes include trauma (from accidents, traditional healers, or sexual violence), radiation, carcinoma, infection, unsafe abortion, and congenital malformation.

Methods: This retrospective records review focuses on rare fistula causes among 6,787 women who developed fistula after 1980 and sought treatment between 1994 and 2017 in Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Somalia, and South Sudan. We compare fistula etiologies across countries and assess associations between rare causes and type of incontinence (urine, feces, or both).

Only a few studies have reported polymyositis in patients with Covid-19 infection. At least one-third of patients with Covid-19 syndrome had elevated CPK levels. The cause of elevated CPK can be a cytokine storm or viral infection of the muscles. Background: Stroke is a leading cause of disability and mortality worldwide, but little is known about the contribution of secondhand smoke exposure (SHSE) to stroke epidemiology among indigenous Africans.

Objective: To evaluate the association of SHSE with stroke among indigenous Africans. Methods We analyzed the relationship of SHSE with stroke among 2990 case-control pairs of adults who had never smoked (identified in the SIREN study) using conditional logistic regression at a two-sided P < 0.05.

Results: Multivariable-adjusted odds ratio and 95% confidence interval; 1.25 (1.04, 1.50; P = 0.02) revealed SHSE was positively associated with stroke independent of stroke subtypes.

Salpingo-enteric fistula is a rare disease causing infertility. It occurs when there is a connection between fallopian tube and the intestine. It can be accurately diagnosed with hysterosalpingography. Fistulas mostly occur as a consequence of obstetric complications, however, inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic malignancy, pelvic radiation therapy, iatrogenic causes, and trauma are other potential causes. The possibility of tuberculous salpingitis as a possible cause of salpingo-enteric fistula should always be considered in the developing countries where tuberculosis is endemic.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the prognostic significance of rSS after PCI for NSTEMI in terms of all-cause mortality and MACE (Major adverse cardiac event) at 3 years of follow-up.

There is a need for reliable and valid screening tools that assess depressive symptoms in adolescents in Pakistan. To address this need, the present study examined the psychometric properties and factor structure of a Sindhi-translated and adapted version of the child-report Mood and Feelings Questionnaire (MFQ-C) and the Short Mood and Feelings Questionnaire (SMFQ-C) in a community sample of adolescents living in Matiari, Pakistan.
