Introduction: Patient with COVID-19 are more likely to have thrombotic events, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). There have been many case reports of patient with acute mesenteric ischemia (AMI) in the setting of COVID-19. Incidences of AMI occur in about 0.1% of acute hospital admissions. Short term mortality from AMI range from 26-86%. Therefore, early diagnosis and treatment are essential, yet diagnosis is difficult and AMI can often go unrecognized as a cause of death. Introduction: Congestive heart failure is a morbid condition with a myriad of pathologic sequelae. Recurrent accumulations of fluid in the pleural space serve as a nidus for infection. The combination of CHF-induced pleural effusions and concomitant pneumonia are a recipe for disaster as bacteria can translocate to form parapneumonic effusions with empyemas as potential complications. Empyemas are one of many etiologies of exudative pleural effusions and are treated with complete drainage of the infected pleural fluid; however, loculations create a barrier for thoracostomy drainage. Background: In the United States (U.S.), falls are the leading cause of injury among adults 65 and over, resulting in 36 million falls yearly (Moreland et al., 2020). According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, 2023), one in four older adults experiences a fall each year. Falls are the world's second most prominent cause of accidental deaths (World Health Organization [WHO], 2021). Falls are the leading cause of both fatal and non-fatal injuries among older adults (Moreland et al., 2020).

Purpose: Rapid clinical assessment of newly arriving direct admission veteran patients to the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care System (VAHCS) Lexington is of the utmost importance to determine current patient condition, alteration from previously known condition at time of provider acceptance or time of report, and appropriate level of care for these veterans. Patient is a 56-year-old male with a past medical history of type 2 diabetes, hypertension, prior MVA with chest trauma, and coronary artery disease with 2 prior stents in the obtuse marginal and right coronary artery who was brought to the ED for severe chest pain. Patient was immediately taken to the cath lab for cardiac intervention. Glucagon-like peptide receptor agonists (GLP-1 RA) are FDA-approved medications for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, and obesity, and are also beneficial in cardiovascular risk reduction. However, due to known GLP-1 RA adverse effects, notably delayed gastric emptying, the ASA has implemented GLP-1RA guidelines aiming to minimize potential complications related to GLP-1 RA use in patients undergoing procedures requiring general anesthesia. Introduction: Post COVID-19 cholangiopathy (CC) is a rare complication of COVID-19 infection. It is characterized by abnormal elevation of serum alkaline phosphatase, with evidence of bile duct injury (via imaging or biopsy) in the absence of other causes. Not much is known regarding the role of ERCP in post COVID-19 cholangiopathy. We sought to better understand the findings, interventions and outcomes in patients with CC undergoing ERCP.
