Background: Due to the location of pelvic floor muscles, training with biofeedback for this muscle group is encouraged. The aim of this study was to characterize the use patterns of various biofeedback techniques in pelvic floor muscle training in healthy pregnant women. Material and Methods: It was a narrative review study using MEDLINE database and the following keywords: ‘pelvic floor’, ‘pregnancy’ and ‘biofeedback’. For the analysis we included 8 studies meeting the criteria of being experimental trials in healthy pregnant women and including the characteristics of biofeedback techniques used in pelvic floor muscle training. Inductions of labor that occur prior to 39 weeks' gestation can pose increased risks for the mother-baby dyad. In the target setting, there is a gap in knowledge among the pregnant women about options for delivery, hospital policies and procedures, and what to expect in the labor and delivery experience. Because of this gap in knowledge, the pregnant patient is unable to make informed decisions regarding her needs, expectations, and care. This lack of knowledge has resulted in a 40-50% rate of inductions of labor at the target site, which is well above the 2014 national average of 25%. In …

Type 1 Diabetics have various ways of managing their diabetes that have been studied for their effectiveness. Pregnancy in the Type 1 Diabetic has been understudied. It is known that Diabetics in general have poorer pregnancy outcomes because of poor glycemic control. This coupled with the fact that the body needs 3-4 times more insulin as pregnancy comes to an end makes managing blood glucose levels challenging for diabetics (Lowdermilk, 2016, p. 689).
