Oral Care Prevents Late-Onset Sepsis In Risk Preterm Infants, Fitri Wahyuni, Yeni Rustina, Defi Efendi

The incidence of infections in preterm infants is still quite high. In this study, oral care with human breast milk was implemented in risk preterm infants as a precaution. The study was conducted using a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group and posttest only design in 40 risk preterm infants. The participants were divided into two groups of 20. The data were analyzed using independent t-test and a Wilcoxon test. The results show that this intervention has an effect on the incidence of late-onset sepsis in preterm infants. Recruitment and hiring of new graduate nurses are seen as a potential strategy to mitigate the problem of nurse shortage. However, previous studies disclosed that new graduate nurses are inadequately prepared to enter practice and experience transition difficulties. This study aimed to determine the perceived competence and transition experience of new graduate Filipino nurses. Seventy-nine conveniently chosen new graduate nurses were surveyed in this descriptive cross-sectional research. Self-administered instruments were used to gather data. Pemberian posisi yang salah dapat meningkatkan risiko morbiditas dan mortalitas. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menggali pemberian posisi (positioning) dan nesting pada bayi prematur di NICU. Penelitian ini berupa studi literatur tahun 2007- 2017, serta pengalaman penulis dalam aplikasi pemberian posisi dan nest di dua rumah sakit rujukan nasional dalam lima tahun terakhir. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan beberapa posisi yang dapat diberikan pada bayi prematur di antaranya adalah posisi supinasi, lateral kiri, lateral kanan, pronasi, dan quarter/semi pronasi. A vegetarian diet is believed to prevent hypertension. This study aims to identify the impact of vegetarian diets, including fat, salt, potassium, and body mass index (BMI), on hypertension. Data was taken by systematic random sampling method from 173 vegetarians and analyzed using chi-square. The result showed that there is no significant association between the intake of fat, sodium, and potassium with hypertension in vegetarians (p> 0.05). However, there is a significant relationship between BMI with the incidence of hypertension (p= 0.025), where overweight res-pondents are 3.837 more likely to have hypertension (OR 3.837; 95% CI= 1,256–11,721). Depression and HIV-related stigma, among other factors, have been inversely linked independently with adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART) among the youth. However, the processes through which the various factors influence this relationship is not fully known. Guided by Social Action Theory, we examined the interactive mechanisms through which depression, HIV-related stigma, and self-efficacy influenced ART adherence and whether or not these relationships are moderated by gender. Maternal deaths in Timor Island, East Nusa Tenggara Province, are one of the contributors to the overall maternal mortality rate (MMR) of Indonesia. The MMR of Western Timor Island was150/100,000 live births in 2015. The aim of this qualitative study was to explore the perceived causes of maternal death due to postpartum hemorrhage. Head Nurse Leadership Model Can Improve The Performance of Nurses in Providing Nursing Care. The purpose of this study was to identify the correlation between the head nurse leadership model and the nurses’ performance. This study applied a cross-sectional method and involved 141 nurses at a Hospital. This study used the instruments was developed in the other studies. The results showed that the leadership model related to the performance was a servant, visionary, and transactional.
