Introduction: Preterm and low birth weight (LBW) infants are at an increased risk of morbidity and mortality compared with their term counterparts, with more than 20 million LBW infants born each year, the majority in lower middle-income countries (LMICs). Given the increased vulnerability and higher nutritional needs of these infants, optimizing feeding strategies may play a crucial role in improving their health outcomes.
Methods: We updated evidence of Every Newborn Series published in The Lancet 2014 by identifying relevant systematic reviews, extracting low-income country (LIC) and LMIC data, and conducting revised meta-analysis for these contexts.

Anti-amyloid beta monoclonal antibodies (anti-Aβ mAbs) have received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of patients with mild cognitive impairment or mild dementia due to Alzheimer's disease (collectively known as early AD) based on evidence from clinical trials. However, whether findings from these trials are generalizable to the real world is uncertain. Background: Cardiac sequelae in Hodgkin Lymphoma (HL) can manifest as involvement of the heart and pericardium. Direct cardiac involvement is rare, and myocardial infiltration is distinctly unusual.¹ When it does occur, it is often a late manifestation of lymphoma, with a median onset of 20 months after initial diagnosis, and it is usually associated with advanced-stage disease.²

Since 2016, U.S. and Canadian officials have reported Anomalous Health Incidents (AHIs), or "Havana Syndrome," characterised by a strange sensory experience followed by chronic neurological, cognitive, and vestibular issues. The cause is intensely debated, with primary hypotheses pointing to either psychosocial factors or a directed-energy weapon, creating a significant medical and geopolitical puzzle.

Background: Traumatic injuries to the genitalia are uncommon due to the mobility of the penis and scrotum. Penile fracture is a relatively rare condition arising from disruption of tunica albuginea with rupture of the corpus cavernosum. Neighborhood-level social vulnerability is associated with hypertension prevalence and severity and with cardiovascular complications in conditions other than hypertension, but its association with cardiovascular complications in patients with hypertension is understudied.

Objectives

The aim of the study was to examine how the neighborhood-level social vulnerability index (SVI) influences cardiovascular outcomes in a large, diverse cohort of patients with hypertension.

We used electronic health data to examine the association between census tract-level rankings for the SVI with a composite endpoint of incident myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, or stroke.

Type 1 diabetes (T1D), a leading cause of mortality in the United States, is associated with heart disease, nephropathy, neuropathy, retinopathy, and stroke. While management of T1D with medications and healthy lifestyle choices is critical, recent research highlights the contributory role of environmental diabetogens in the pathogenesis of T1D. Here, we propose that the furan compound, 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furfural (HMF), which forms when hexoses such as glucose or fructose lose three water molecules during thermal food processing, might be an unrecognized dietary diabetogen. Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease of unknown etiology that commonly involves multiple organ systems, with the lungs and lymph nodes most frequently affected. Osseous involvement, although recognized, is considered uncommon and often overlooked due to its nonspecific clinical and radiographic features. Patients may be asymptomatic or present with pain, swelling, and functional limitations of the affected limb. Imaging can reveal findings such as bone lesions that mimic malignancy, including lytic or sclerotic changes. Diagnosis relies on histopathological confirmation of non-caseating granulomas. Cartilage tissue engineering (CTE) integrates cells, scaffolds, and signaling molecules, with Insulin being utilized as a differentiation biomolecule due to cost-effectiveness, dose-dependent influence on chondrogenesis, suitable biological activity, and ability to activate relevant receptors. Yet, administering differentiation biomolecules through conventional scaffolds poses a persistent challenge. Introduction: Virtual endoscopy (VE) is the computer-based reprocessing of diagnostic imaging to simulate endoscopy of an anatomic region of interest. VE of the Frontal Sinus Outflow Tract (FSOT) may assist surgical planning and education.

Method: VE was performed on 16 normal sinus computed tomography (CT) scans for a total of 32 sides using the "path-to-target" tool on the TruDi surgical navigation system (ver. 2.3; Acclarent, Irving, CA, USA). Objective: To evaluate the long-term safety and effectiveness of temperature-controlled radiofrequency (TCRF) treatment of nasal valve collapse (NVC) in patients with nasal airway obstruction (NAO).

Study design: This is an extended follow-up from a prospective, multicenter, single-arm study. The initial study included participants from 12 sites across the United States who were followed for 24 months and additionally agreed to participate in the extended 36-month follow-up.

Setting: Procedure was performed in-office with an in-person follow-up at 3 months and subsequent follow-up assessment remotely.

Introduction: Although surgical navigation is commonly used in rhinologic surgery, data on real world performance are sparse because of difficulties in collecting measurements for target registration error (TRE). Despite publications showing submillimeter TRE, surgeons do report TRE of >3 mm. We describe a novel method for assessing TRE during surgery and report findings with this technique.

Purpose: Pre-treatment [99mTc]TcMAA-based radioembolization treatment planning using multicompartment dosimetry involves the definition of the tumor and normal tissue compartments and calculation of the prescribed absorbed doses. The aim was to compare the real-world utility of anatomic and [99mTc]TcMAA-based segmentation of tumor and normal tissue compartments.

Materials and methods: Included patients had HCC treated by glass [90Y]yttrium microspheres, ≥ 1 tumor, ≥ 3 cm diameter and [99mTc]TcMAA SPECT/CT imaging before treatment. Delayed hemolytic transfusion reaction (DHTR) poses a significant challenge in patients receiving blood transfusions. This case report highlights the complexities of managing DHTR in a newly diagnosed chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) patient with clinically significant JKa and little c antibodies during induction chemotherapy. A 46-year-old woman with CMML-2 who presented for induction chemotherapy was found to have hemolytic anemia. Due to presence of JKa and little c antibodies, she required intensive monitoring and supportive care measures. The coexistence of JKa and little c antibodies complicates transfusion management and chemotherapy tolerance in CMML patients.

Background: Hyperostosis is a common radiographic feature of inverted papilloma (IP) tumor origin on computed tomography (CT). Herein, we developed a machine learning (ML) model capable of analyzing CT images and identifying IP attachment sites.

Methods: A retrospective review of patients treated for IP at our institution was performed. The tumor attachment site was manually segmented on CT scans by the operating surgeon. Introduction: Perioperative immunotherapy has shown promise in some patients with early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). This study examined tissue and imaging biomarkers associated with pathologic response in a phase II clinical trial in patients with resectable HCC.

Methods: Analysis included 18 patients with biopsy-proven resectable HCC treated with neoadjuvant nivolumab plus ipilimumab or nivolumab alone in a phase II clinical trial at MD Anderson Cancer Center (NCT03222076).
