A Comparative Study On The Accuracy And Reliability Of Artificial Intelligent Lateral Cephalogram Tracing Programs, Stuart Mills
A Comparative Study On The Accuracy And Reliability Of Artificial Intelligent Lateral Cephalogram Tracing Programs, Stuart Mills
Graduate Theses, Dissertations, and Problem Reports (ETD)
Objective: To compare the accuracy and reliability of two commercially available Artificial Intelligent (AI) cephalogram tracing software programs to doctor traced cephalograms.
Materials and Methods: A sample of 100 pretreatment cephalograms were analyzed with AI based software programs, Angel Aligner iCeph and WebCeph, then compared to images traced by an orthodontist using Dolphin Imaging. Of the 100 samples, 50 were skeletally Class I and 50 were skeletally Class II. For each cephalogram produced, the American Board of Orthodontics 11 measurements were acquired from each of the three tracing programs. One way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Tukey’s HSD test …

Background and Objectives: In order to diagnose and treatment plan orthodontic cases, orthodontists employ many different treatment philosophies and disciplines, and practice with their own understanding and adaptation of such philosophies. Andrews-trained orthodontics incorporate the defined six elements: the dental arch and its supporting tissues/structures, anteroposterior jaw relations and positions, buccal-lingual jaw relations and positions, jaw heights, chin prominence, and the occlusion [ideal characteristics described in the Six …

Three-Dimensional Analysis Of Dental Arch Form In Relation To The Vertical Facial Pattern In Class I Patients: A Cross-Sectional Study, Ahmad Ghassan Droubi, Islam Gad, Aly Osman
Three-Dimensional Analysis Of Dental Arch Form In Relation To The Vertical Facial Pattern In Class I Patients: A Cross-Sectional Study, Ahmad Ghassan Droubi, Islam Gad, Aly Osman
International Arab Journal of Dentistry
Introduction: Understanding the relationship between dental arch form and vertical facial pattern is crucial in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning. Variations in vertical facial morphology can influence dental arch form, which in turn impacts the effectiveness and stability of orthodontic interventions.
Objectives: The study explores the associations between dental arch form with the different vertical facial patterns, including hyperdivergent, normodivergent, and hypodivergent patterns in skeletal Class I patients.
Methods: A cross-sectional observational design was employed to examine a sample of 48 patients with skeletal Class I seeking orthodontic treatment; of which 24 males and 24 females. Each …

The Effect Of Premolar Extractions On The Change Of Angulation And Eruption Space Of The Mandibular Third Molars After Orthodontic Treatment, Asmae Benkaddour, Khaoula M’Rabt, Loubna Bahije, Fatima Zaoui, Asmae Bahoum
International Arab Journal of Dentistry
Objectives: Our study was designed to analyze the effect of lower premolar extraction on the evolution space of the lower third molars, as well as their position and angulation during orthodontic treatment.
Methods: This is a cross-sectional, retrospective, descriptive and analytical study comparing two groups of patients: the first group includes 20 patients treated without premolar extraction, and the second group, 27 patients treated with premolar extraction. Linear and angular measurements were performed on panoramic radiographs and lateral cephalograms of orthodontic pre- and post-treatment.
Results: The eruption space and the horizontal position of the lower third molars, …
