Objective: This retrospective study aimed to determine the profile of patients who underwent single tooth implants between 2013 and 1017 and to evaluate long-term follow-up and success. Methods: The results of 79 patients who underwent single dental intra-bone dental implantation in Diyarbakır Oral and Dental Health Hospital between 2013 and 2017 were evaluated separately in terms of gender, age, implanted area and number, systemic diseases affecting implant health, and missing implants. Results: In this study, single tooth implants were evaluated in 79 patients with a mean age of 39.55 years in men and 30.44 years in women. …

Dentoalveolar ankylosis is the union between the tooth root and the dentoalveolar bone. Clinically, the affected tooth is unsuccessful to erupt, exhibits an infraocclusal position within the dentoalveolar arch, elicits a metallic sound on percussion, and has reduced or absent mobility. Objective: This single case report illustrates the management of idiopathically ankylosed maxillary deciduous first molars. Case report: The patient was a 6-year-old female with maxillary deciduous first molars in infraocclusal position due to idiopathic ankylosis. The ankylosed deciduous teeth were monitored regularly. After a 27-month follow-up, the infraocclusion became severe. No vertical deficiencies in other alveolar regions were detected. …

Myrmecodia pendens is an herbal medicine rich in polyphenol compounds that have antibacterial, antioxidant, and anticancer properties. Objectives: To analyze the effects of M. pendens fraction combination on the sensitivity of E. faecalis. Methods: The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was determined using a serial microdilution method, and the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) was determined by adding the test sample to sterile Mueler Hinton agar medium. This thesis attempted to evaluate the effects of the use of APC™ Flash-Free (FF) and conventional adhesives in bonding of orthodontic brackets on plaque formation and retention, WSL development, and bracket failure in-vivo. The aim of the current study was to investigate how bilateral cleft lip and palate (BCLP) cases responded differently to presurgical orthopedics (PSO) and primary lip repair (LR) based on premaxillary characteristics. We suggest a clinically oriented descriptive classification for BCLP based on premaxillary characteristics.

Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a genetic disorder affecting over 100,000 African Americans. While once lethal, medical treatment now allows those with SCD to lead comparatively normal lives, and these children are more frequently seeking orthodontic treatment. We report here on a cephalometric study of a contemporary cohort of 62 children with SCD (27 SC and 35 SS genotypes). The effect of the Edgewise Bioprogressive Herbst appliance, as described by Dr. Terry Dischinger, was investigated on 24 Class II, Division 1 malocclusions. Mean pretreatment age of this sample was 11.2 months. All patients were treated by Dischinger with a Bioprogressive Herbst appliance. Lateral cephalographs taken before, after Herbst appliance therapy, and after edgewise treatment were traced, then digitized into Quick Ceph™. Measurements were computed by the computer software.
