Assessment Of Incisive Canal Morphology And Position In A Sample Of Egyptian Population: A Cone Beam Computed Tomography Study, Sherif Shafik

Dentistry

ABSTRACT Several studies have highlighted the diversity in the anatomy of the incisive canal. Evaluation of incisive canal as well as its approximation to the maxillary incisor root is crucial before orthodontic treatment, implant placement and other surgical procedures in the anterior maxillary area. Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) provides detailed three-dimensional information and have been used to evaluate the nasopalatine region with high accuracy along with relative safety due to low radiation exposure. Aim: The study aimed to provide analysis of the nasopalatine canal anatomy using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) in a sample of the Egyptian population. Materials & …

Assessment Of The Effects Of Edentulousness On Temporomandibular Components By Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography, Büşra Arıkan, Numan Dedeoğlu, Şuayip Burak Duman Dec 2022

Assessment Of The Effects Of Edentulousness On Temporomandibular Components By Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography, Büşra Arıkan, Numan Dedeoğlu, Şuayip Burak Duman

Journal of Dentistry Indonesia

Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of edentulousness on the temporomandibular joint using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Methods: In this study, CBCT images were evaluated in a total of 48 patients (24 dentulous, 24 edentulous). Ninety-six temporomandibular joint CBCT images were examined. Eminence inclination, condyle head widths and joint space were measured and statistically compared between the edentulous and dentulous groups. Results: The articular eminence inclination value the mediolateral width of the condyle and the anteroposterior width of the condyle were found significantly higher in the dentulous group than in the edentulous group. …

A Three Dimensional Age Estimation Using Cone Beam Ct In Malaysian Population, Asif Muhammad Khan Jan 2020

A Three Dimensional Age Estimation Using Cone Beam Ct In Malaysian Population, Asif Muhammad Khan

Student Works (2020-2029)

Forensic odontology plays a vital role in the age estimation and identification process during criminal investigations. Forensic science in the past have mainly employed two-dimensional (2D) radiographic assessment of developmental and physiological age related dental parameters for age estimation. However, 2D radiograph doesn’t represent the three-dimensional (3D) anatomical structures. Rapidly evolving CBCT imaging modality can be effectively employed in forensic sciences to overcome the limitations of 2D imaging. The current study aimed to develop a novel method of dental age estimation using 3D surface area analyses of root apices of the developing permanent maxillary canines and mandibular third molars among …

Long Term Facial Alveolar Bone Changes Associated With Endosseous Implants In The Anterior Maxilla., Deepika Joshi May 2016

Long Term Facial Alveolar Bone Changes Associated With Endosseous Implants In The Anterior Maxilla., Deepika Joshi

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Aim: To quantify the radiographic presence and thickness of facial alveolar bone (FABr) adjacent to implants placed in the anterior maxillary region. Lack of FABr may suggest that graft procedures are desirable prior to implant placement. Material and Methods: With IRB approval, a retrospective analysis of cone beam computed tomographic cross-sectional images of sites with at least one implant in the anterior maxillary region was performed. Details regarding type of implant and location were recorded. FABr perpendicular to the long axis each implant was measured at seven levels by two observers independently and means and standard …
