Aim: To study the effectiveness of photo activated disinfection (PAD) Disinfection Versus Calcium Hydroxide Disinfection in Regeneration of Immature Infected Teeth. Material and Methods:30 patients with immature, single rooted teeth appearing with or without signs and/or symptoms of periapical pathology were involved in the study. Cases were classified into three groups according to the disinfection protocol, ten patients each group (n=10). Group I: Calcium hydroxide (Ca (OH)) was injected in the canal after drying the canal with sterile paper points. Group II: Photosensitizers (Azulenocyanine) was inserted in the canals and agitated in the canal, then activated with diode …

Aim: to evaluate the postoperative pain of using Propolis versus Calcium hydrox- ide as intracanal medications on post-operative pain in necrotic teeth. Subjects and Methods: 40 patients requiring endodontic treatment for single rooted teeth were en- rolled in this analysis. The selected patients were separated into two groups with 20 pa- tients each; Group І: Propolis paste. Group II: Ca (OH)2 paste. The local anesthesia was administrated, and the working length determined by Root ZX apex locator, and then confirmed radiographically. The root canals were mechanically prepared in a crown- down approach using the “TF Adaptive” setting on Elements Motor. …

Many root canal preparation techniques and instruments produce apically extruded materials to a certain extent depending on the preparation system adopted. The extrusion of debris from the apical foramen during chemomechanical preparation may cause postoperative pain and failure of endodontic treatment. Objective: This study evaluates the differences in the apical extrusion of debris and calcium hydroxide (CH) during endodontic instrumentation by using Reciproc Blue (RB), WaveOne Gold (WOG), and F6 Skytaper (F6). Methods: Six experimental study groups (n = 13) were established. The root canal procedures for all groups were prepared with different methods: Group I: One Shape (OS) instrumentation, …
Comparison Of Calcium Hydroxide Extrusion With Syringe Vs Spiral Filler Delivery: A Pilot Study, Gordon San Lai
Comparison Of Calcium Hydroxide Extrusion With Syringe Vs Spiral Filler Delivery: A Pilot Study, Gordon San Lai
Orthodontics and Endodontics Theses
Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the frequency and amount of Ca(OH)2 extrusion in relation to the intracanal delivery technique, apical foramen size, and depth of placement. Methods: Standardized training blocks with j-shaped canals were used (n=64); half of the simulated canals were shaped to apical size #35(.06 taper) and the remaining 32 to #45(.06). The frequency and extent of Ca(OH)2 extrusion were measured relative to apical taper, the depth of insertion, and whether syringe or spiral filler was used. Blocks were immersed in pH-sensitive gel and observed for color change. The visible extent of extrusion, indicated …
