Objective: This study aimed to quantify the effects of different materials, sizes of the continuous archwires in leveling the exaggerated curve of Spee. We used an orthodontic force tester apparatus to measure the forces and moments delivered by the archwires to the brackets attached to the sensors of one quadrant of the arch (from 1st incisor to 2nd molar). The hypothesis is that there is no difference in the load and moments between the incisors when the curve of Spee is leveled with the three different mechanical designs being tested. Objective: A small fraction of oral lichenoid conditions (OLC) have potential for malignant transformation. Distinguishing OLCs from other oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs) can help prevent unnecessary concern or testing, but accurate identification by nonexpert clinicians is challenging due to overlapping clinical features. In this study, the authors developed a 'cytomics-on-a-chip' tool and integrated predictive model for aiding the identification of OLCs.

Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) allows us to identify genes expressed in precursor cells for craniofacial structures, but the function of many of these genes in craniofacial development has yet to be characterized. In our scRNA-seq of cranial neural crest cells (NCCs), which are precursor cells for the craniofacial skeleton, we found a gene called early B-cell factor 3 (ebf3a) that may be involved in craniofacial development. Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) biomarker studies rarely employ multi-omic biomarker strategies and pertinent clinicopathologic characteristics to predict mortality. In this study we determine for the first time a combined epigenetic, gene expression, and histology signature that differentiates between patients with different tobacco use history (heavy tobacco use with ≥10 pack years vs. no tobacco use). Materials and Methods: Calcium Hydroxide (CH) and nano calcium hydroxide (NCH) powders were initially characterized using transmission electron microscope (TEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and a zeta sizer instrument.
