Purpose: Workplace burnout in academia is a problem that affects career satisfaction and longevity. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of burnout among entry-level dental hygiene program directors.

Methods: The Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI) survey was used to determine prevalence of burnout in 325 dental hygiene program directors from across the United States. The survey was disseminated electronically. The CBI contains 19 questions that measure overall, personal, work-related, and client/student-related burnout on a five-point Likert type scale. การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาแบบสอบถามการบริโภคอาหารสำหรับประเมินประสิทธิภาพการบดเคี้ยวทางอัตวิสัยและจำแนกผู้ป่วยที่มีสภาวะช่องปากที่แตกต่างกัน รวมทั้งทดสอบความตรงและความเที่ยงของแบบสอบถามการบริโภคอาหารที่พัฒนาขึ้น โดยแบ่งการศึกษาทางคลินิกแบบภาคตัดขวางเป็น 2 ระยะ ได้แก่ (1) การพัฒนาแบบสอบถามการบริโภคอาหาร 20 ชนิด ซึ่งประกอบด้วยอาหารที่มีความถี่ในการบริโภคสูงสุด 14 ชนิดจาก 4 กลุ่มอาหาร และอาหารที่ผู้ที่ใส่ฟันเทียมทั้งปากเคี้ยวได้ยากหรือเคี้ยวไม่ได้เลยอีก 6 ชนิด และ (2) การนำแบบสอบถามการบริโภคอาหารไปใช้ประเมินประสิทธิภาพการบดเคี้ยวทางอัตวิสัย กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ ผู้ป่วยที่ใส่ฟันเทียมทั้งปาก ฟันเทียมบางส่วนถอดได้ หรือฟันเทียมติดแน่นจำนวน 110 คน ประเมินความยากในการบดเคี้ยวอาหาร 20 ชนิดในแบบสอบถามการบริโภคอาหารด้วยมาตรวัดลิเคิร์ท 3 ระดับ เพื่อนำมาคำนวณคะแนนการบดเคี้ยว ประสิทธิภาพการบดเคี้ยวทางวัตถุวิสัยประเมินจากขนาดอนุภาคถั่วลิสงที่ผ่านการบดเคี้ยวโดยใช้วิธีการกรองผ่านตะแกรง 12 ชั้น ขนาดอนุภาคถั่วลิสงที่มีขนาดเล็กบ่งบอกถึงประสิทธิภาพการบดเคี้ยวทางวัตถุวิสัยที่ดี ทดสอบความตรงเชิงสอดคล้องของแบบสอบถามโดยเปรียบเทียบความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคะแนนการบดเคี้ยวและขนาดอนุภาคถั่วลิสง ทดสอบความตรงเชิงจำแนกของแบบสอบถามโดยเปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนการบดเคี้ยวระหว่างกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่มีสภาวะช่องปากแตกต่างกัน ทดสอบความเที่ยงภายในและความเที่ยงจากการทดสอบซ้ำของแบบสอบถามด้วยสัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟาของครอนบาคและสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ภายในชั้น จากผลการศึกษาสามารถจัดกลุ่มอาหาร 20 ชนิด เป็น 5 ระดับตามความยากในการบดเคี้ยว พบว่าคะแนนการบดเคี้ยวมีความสัมพันธ์ในทิศทางลบกับขนาดอนุภาคถั่วลิสงอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (r = -0.659, p < 0.05) โดยค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนการบดเคี้ยวและขนาดอนุภาคถั่วลิสงมีความแตกต่างกันระหว่างกลุ่มที่มีจำนวนฟันธรรมชาติที่เหลืออยู่ จำนวนคู่สบฟันหลัง ชนิดของฟันเทียม และคุณภาพของฟันเทียมที่แตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ แบบสอบถามการบริโภคอาหารมีค่าสัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟาของครอนบาคเท่ากับ 0.892 และสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ภายในชั้นเท่ากับ 0.953 จากผลการศึกษาสรุปได้ว่าแบบสอบถามการบริโภคอาหารที่พัฒนาขึ้นในการศึกษานี้มีความตรงและความเที่ยงที่เพียงพอในการประเมินประสิทธิภาพการบดเคี้ยวทางอัตวิสัยและสามารถจำแนกผู้ป่วยที่มีสภาวะช่องปากที่แตกต่างกัน

Materials and Methods: 28 patients with mandibular prognathism being treated with bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy (BSSRO) were randomly selected from titanium and resorbable fixations. These surgical guides have typically utilized metal sleeves to assist in guidance of the drills during osteotome preparation. The metal sleeves can be costly and potentially cause deviations if improperly placed during post-processing of the guide. Purpose: To assess the prevalence and course of mandibular incisive canal in Thai population using cone-beam computed tomography. 149 CBCT images of the mandibles were obtained from 78 males (52.3%) and 71 females (47.7%) age ranged between 21 and 73 years. For the CBCT scan, the standard i-CAT settings were used. A digital ruler was incorporated into the viewing software for the purpose of taking measurements. Double measurements and observations were conducted by a single observer. Purpose: To determine if interprofessional education (IPE) program with dental hygiene and occupational therapy students help determine roles and responsibilities in patients post-stroke.

Methods: A virtual 90-minute educational module was presented to occupational therapy and dental hygiene students, hosted over zoom with a 30-minute presentation followed by an open discussion over two case studies. A pretest was administered before the event and followed by an immediate posttest. Both tests included the Modified Readiness for Interprofessional Learning (mRIPLS) items that are on a 5-point Likert scale.

CCL20 secretion by OECs in response to pathogenic bacteria is regulated by S. gordonii (Sg)-induced miR-663a; nevertheless, the mechanisms involved in these Sg-modulated responses remain to be elucidated. Objective: The primary objective of this study is to evaluate pre and posttreatment lateral cephalometric radiographs on patients treated with Invisalign by the same orthodontist where lower incisor intrusion was prescribed and to determine the amount of true lower incisor intrusion achieved during treatment. Methods: This retrospective case series study included 48 patients with an overbite exceeding 2mm, who were treated with Invisalign clear aligner therapy, and whose Clincheck treatment plan included lower incisor intrusion.
