Drug-induced gingival overgrowth (DIGO) is defined as an abnormal growth of the gingiva due to adverse effect of some drugs such as immunosuppressant, calcium channel blocker, and anticonvulsant. Ameloblastic fibrodentinoma (AFD) is a rare tumor with an incidence rate of less than 1%. When lesion with the histomorphology of ameloblastic fibroma(AF), which is true neoplasms, form dysplastic dentin, and had been referred to as AFD. It histologically consists of odontogenic ectomesenchyme resembling the dental papilla, epithelial strands, and nests resembling dental lamina and enamel organ with dentin formation. Although newly categorized as an odontoma by the WHO in 2017, this lesion was previously referred to as a rare odontogenic tumor by the WHO in 2005. We used a nonhuman primate model of ligature-induced periodontitis to identify patterns of gingival transcriptomic after changes demarcating phases of periodontitis lesions (initiation, progression, resolution). A total of 18 adult Macaca mulatta (12–22 years) had ligatures placed (premolar, 1st molar teeth) in all 4 quadrants. Gingival tissue samples were obtained (baseline, 2 weeks, 1 and 3 months during periodontitis and at 5 months resolution). This case report presents the outcome of atypical extraction and effect of Twin Block appliance on a growing adolescent. A 12-year-old boy who had complained about protrusive upper lips after being involved in a traffic accident. Tooth 11 was replanted at a local dental clinic, while tooth 21 was lost. In extra-oral examination, this patient had convex profile, obtuse nasolabial angle, and receded chin position. This report is a case of 11-year-old young boy who was diagnosed with pediatric obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) by sleep surgeon and was referred for further evaluation of co-therapy with intervention of orthodontic appliances. Task trainer simulators are often used in medical programs for bachelor’s degree students when teaching procedural skills. They provide the opportunity to practice dangerous maneuvers that students are not ready to perform on real patients yet. The rise of technology has vastly expanded the availability of these devices for use in teaching. To develop a protocol that would account for the complexities of psychomotor learning, based on student progress, and improve training quality, we designed a protocol for the bachelor’s degree program in dentistry. We justify the key elements of the proposal and explain the full working protocol.

This study used micro-computed tomography (µCT) to compare voids and interfaces in single-cone obturation among AH Plus, EndoSequence BC, and prototype surface pre-reacted glass ionomer (S-PRG) sealers and to determine the percentage of sealer contact at the dentin and gutta-percha (GP) interfaces. Purpose

The study was designed to determine awareness and knowledge of silver diamine fluoride (SDF) among dental hygiene program directors and determine if schools have included SDF education to their curriculum.

Methods

A descriptive survey was used to gather information from all United States dental hygiene program directors.

Results

The survey had a max response from 39 school directors. With 92.31% of schools indicating SDF as a product of interest only 76.92% currently provided education to students. There are 76.92% of schools providing SDF education to students yet only 34.21% of those schools are providing SDF education to the faculty. …
