Objective To compare the residual monomer in two brands of MMA-based orthodontic base-plate materials before and after water immersion (for 24 and 72 hours). Materials and Methods A total of 36 disc specimens (3 x 50 mm) were prepared from MMA-based orthodontic base-plate materials; Orthocryl (Dentaurum) and Orthoplast (Vertex) according to the manufacturersû instructions and ISO 20795-2 (2013). วัตถุประสงค์ ศึกษาผลของซีพีพี เอซีพีและโนวามินต่อการต้านทานการสึกกร่อนจากกรดซิตริกบนผิวเคลือบฟัน ที่ปกคลุมด้วยแผ่นคราบน้ำลาย วัสดุและวิธีการ สร้างแผ่นคราบน้ําลายที่ผิวเคลือบฟันขนาด 2 x 2 x 2 มิลลิเมตร จํานวน 36 ชิ้นงาน โดยนําไปยึดติดในช่องปากของอาสาสมัคร 1 คน เป็นเวลา 2 ชั่วโมง นําชิ้นงานออกมาแบ่ง 3 กลุ่ม กลุ่มละ 12 ชิ้นงาน คือ กลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มซีพีพี เอซีพี และกลุ่มโนวามิน โดยทาซีพีพีเอชพีหรือโนวามินที่ผิวเคลือบฟันของ กลุ่มทดลองทิ้งไว้ 3 นาที แล้วล้างออกด้วยน้ําปราศจากอิออน จากนั้นนําชิ้นงานทั้งสามกลุ่มไปแช่ในกรดซิตริกความเข้มข้นร้อยละ 1 เป็นระยะเวลา 60 วินาที วัดปริมาณการละลายออกของแคลเซียมอิออนในสารละลายด้วยเครื่องวิเคราะห์ธาตุ ส่วนชิ้นงานนําไปส่องดูด้วยกล้องจุลทรรศน์อิเล็กตรอนแบบส่องกราด ผลการศึกษา ค่าเฉลี่ย (ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน) ปริมาณแคลเซียมอิออนที่ละลายออกมา (หน่วยเป็นมิลลิกรัม ต่อลิตร) ของกลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มซีพีพี เอซีพี และกลุ่มโนวามิน คือ 23.65 (7.80) 29.76 (6.55) 45.90 (9.61) ตามลําดับกลุ่มโนวามิน มีค่าเฉลี่ยมากกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมและกลุ่มซีพีพี- เอซีพี อย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ (p<0.05) ส่วนกลุ่มควบคุมและกลุ่มซีพีพี เอซีพี มีค่าเฉลี่ยไม่แตกต่างอย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ (p>0.05) สรุป ปริมาณแคลเซียมอิออนที่ละลายออกมาเมื่อแช่ในกรดซิตริกของกลุ่มโนวามินมีค่ามากกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมและกลุ่มซีพีพีเอชพีอย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ โดยผลจากกล้องจุลทรรศน์อิเล็กตรอนแบบส่องกราดยืนยันว่าสารคืนแร่ธาตุทั้งสองชนิดสามารถต้านทานการสึกกร่อนจากกรดซิตริกบนผิวเคลือบฟันที่ปกคลุมด้วยแผ่นคราบน้ําลายได้

Objectives The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of the canonical Wnt pathway activated by LiCl, a GSK3β inhibitor, on proliferation of human deciduous pulp (hDDP) cells. Material and Methods Human deciduous dental pulp cells were stimulated with LiCl at various concentrations (5 mM, 10 mM, 20 mM). Objectives To compare the recognition threshold of the four taste qualities in patients wearing upper removable orthodontic appliances with posterior bite planes before and after insertion. Material and Methods Subjects who received upper removable orthodontic appliances with posterior bite planes were recruited in the study. วัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาผลของสารเรซินเหลวที่มีต่อความแข็งแรงของพันธะเฉือนในช่วงแรกของสารยึดติดทางทันตกรรมจัดฟันสามชนิดระหว่างแบร็กเกตและผิวเคลือบฟัน วัสดุและวิธีการ เตรียมฟันกรามน้อยจํานวน 60 ที่แบ่งเป็น 3 กลุ่ม ๆ ละ 20 ซี่เตรียมผิวฟันด้วยกรดฟอสฟอริก ล้างน้ําและเป่าแห้งนําแบร็กเกตติดลงบนผิวฟันด้วยสารยึดติดชนิดบ่มด้วยแสงโดยกลุ่ม 1 (T) วัสดุ Transbond XT (3M Unitek, CA, USA) กลุ่ม2 (G) วัสดุ Grengloo (Ormco, Glendora, CA, USA) กลุ่ม 3 วัสดุ (P) Padlock (Reliance Orthodontic Product, Inc., Itasca, IL, USA) ในแต่ละกลุ่มถูกแบ่งเป็นกลุ่ม ทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุมกลุ่มละ 10 ซี่ กลุ่มทดลองไม่มีการทาสารเรซินเหลว (T1, G1, P1) กลุ่มควบคุมทาสาร เรซินเหลว (T2, G2, P2) ตามคําแนะนําของผู้ผลิตนําตัวอย่างกลุ่มละ 9 ชิ้นไปวัดค่าความแข็งแรงของพันธะเฉือนหลังการฉายแสง 5 นาทีด้วยเครื่องทดสอบสากล ส่วนอีก 1 ชิ้น นําไปศึกษาลักษณะการแทรกซึมของเรซิน ในเคลือบฟันด้วยกล้องจุลทรรศน์อิเล็กตรอนแบบส่องกราดเปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยความแข็งแรงของพันธะเฉือนระหว่างกลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุมของสารยึดติดแต่ละชนิดด้วยค่าสถิติที่ เปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยความแข็งแรงของ พันธะเฉือนในแต่ละกลุ่มด้วยค่าความแปรปรวนแบบทางเดียว วัดค่าการเหลืออยู่ของสารยึดติดบนตัวฟันด้วยค่า ดัชนีการเหลืออยู่ของสารยึดติด ทดสอบด้วยค่าทางสถิตไคสแควร์ที่ระดับความเชื่อมั่นร้อยละ 95 ผลการศึกษา ค่าเฉลี่ยและค่าความแปรปรวนของความแข็งแรงพันธะเฉือนของกลุ่ม T1 G1 และ P1 เท่ากับ 10.182.33 10.72+3.21 และ 17.61 23.67 เมกะปาสคาล ตามลําดับกลุ่ม T2 G2 P2 เท่ากับ 12.12 3.29 11.94 + 3.20 และ 10.44 + 3.47 เมกะปาสคาล ตามลําดับ …

Background A Disintegrin and Metalloproteinase-9 (ADAM-9) is a type I transmembrane protein associated with epithelial differentiation. ADAM-9 is involved in wound healing process by controlling keratinocyte migration and tumorigenesis. Proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) is a useful marker for cell proliferation. Several studies reported increased PCNA expression in oral lichen planus (OLP), but ADAM-9 expression in OLP has not yet been studied. วัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อรวบรวมและรายงานข้อมูลผู้ป่วยที่ได้รับการบําบัดฉุกเฉินทางทันตกรรมในคลินิกตรวจ พิเคราะห์โรค คณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย วัสดุและวิธีการ คัดเลือกรายชื่อและเบิกแฟ้มเวชระเบียนของผู้ป่วยที่เข้ารับการบําบัดฉุกเฉินทางทันตกรรม ในคลินิกตรวจพิเคราะห์โรค คณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย โดยนิสิตทันตแพทย์ ตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2553-2555 บันทึกข้อมูลของผู้ป่วยแต่ละราย ได้แก่ เพศ อายุ ประวัติทางแพทย์ อาการสําคัญ การวินิจฉัย โรค การรักษา ตําแหน่ง จํานวนครั้ง ระยะเวลารอรับการบําบัดฉุกเฉิน ปัญหาแทรกซ้อนที่เกิดขึ้นขณะบําบัดฉุกเฉิน ทางทันตกรรม ลงในแบบบันทึกข้อมูล และนําข้อมูลไปวิเคราะห์ ผลการศึกษา จากการศึกษาพบผู้ป่วยจํานวน 1,545 ราย จํานวนครั้งที่มารับการรักษา 1,974 ครั้ง เป็นผู้ป่วยเพศ ชาย 521 คน (ร้อยละ 33.7) เพศหญิง 1,024 คน (ร้อยละ 66.3) ส่วนใหญ่มีอายุเฉลี่ย 51-60 ปี (ร้อยละ 22.9) ส่วนใหญ่มาด้วยอาการสําคัญ คือ อาการปวดฟัน (ร้อยละ 46) และอาการเสียวฟัน (ร้อยละ 12.2) ผู้ป่วยส่วน ใหญ่ได้รับการวินิจฉัยโรคเป็นโรคเนื้อเยื่อในอักเสบผันกลับไม่ได้และเนื้อเยื่อรอบปลายรากฟันอักเสบ (ร้อยละ 33.6) โรคฟันผุ (ร้อยละ 22.7) โรคเนื้อเยื่อในอักเสบผันกลับไม่ได้และเนื้อเยื่อรอบปลายรากฟันปกติ (ร้อยละ 13.8) โรคเนื้อเยื่อในอักเสบผันกลับได้ (ร้อยละ 13.8) และได้รับการบําบัดฉุกเฉินทางเอ็นโดดอนต์มากสุด (ร้อยละ 47.4) รองลงมาคือ การกําจัดรอยผุ (ร้อยละ 36.5) การขูดหินน้ําลาย (ร้อยละ 13) ผู้ป่วยมีระยะเวลาการรอรับการ บําบัดฉุกเฉินหลังการตรวจวินิจฉัยแล้วส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในช่วง 4-7 วัน (ร้อยละ 28.3) สรุป อาการสําคัญที่นําผู้ป่วยมาพบทันตแพทย์เพื่อรับการบําบัดฉุกเฉินบ่อยที่สุดคือ อาการปวดฟัน สาเหตุหลัก มาจากโรคเนื้อเยื่อในอักเสบมันกลับไม่ได้และเนื้อเยื่อรอบปลายรากฟันอักเสบ และได้รับการบําบัดฉุกเฉินโดยการ รักษาทางเอ็นโดดอนต์ ผู้ป่วยส่วนใหญ่จะได้รับการบําบัดฉุกเฉินภายใน 4-7 วัน …

วัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาผลการรักษาและภาวะแทรกซ้อน ที่ทําให้เกิดความล้มเหลวของการทําศัลยกรรมบูรณะ เพื่อการทํารากเทียม วัสดุและวิธีการ ศึกษาข้อมูลย้อนหลังจากเวชระเบียนและภาพถ่ายรังสีของผู้ป่วยที่ได้รับการทําศัลยกรรมบูรณะ เพื่อการทํารากเทียม ที่ภาควิชาศัลยศาสตร์ คณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ.2546-2555 ผลการศึกษา อัตราความสําเร็จของการทําศัลยกรรมบูรณะมีค่าร้อยละ 97.58 (อัตราความสําเร็จของการปลูก ถ่ายกระดูกอ่อนเลย์ และการเสริมโพรงอากาศแมกซิลลา มีค่าร้อยละ 96.55 และ 98.48 ตามลําดับ) และอัตรา ความสําเร็จในการใส่รากเทียมในบริเวณที่ทําศัลยกรรมบูรณะมีค่าร้อยละ 97.52 โดยพบผู้ป่วยมีภาวะแทรกซ้อน หลักทั้งสิ้น 4 ตําแหน่ง (คิดเป็นร้อยละ 3.23) โดยแบ่งเป็นภาวะแทรกซ้อนหลักจากการปลูกถ่ายกระดูกอ่อนเลย์ 2 ตําแหน่ง ได้แก่ การเผยฝั่งของเนื้อเยื่อปลูกถ่ายขนาดใหญ่ซึ่งทําให้เกิดความล้มเหลวในผู้ป่วย 2 ราย และภาวะ แทรกซ้อนหลักจากการเสริมโพรงอากาศแมกซิลลา 2 ตําแหน่ง ได้แก่ การติดเชื้อของโพรงอากาศแมกซิลลาซึ่งทําให้เกิดความล้มเหลวในผู้ป่วย 1 ราย สรุป การทําศัลยกรรมบูรณะด้วยการปลูกถ่ายกระดูกอ่อนเลย์และการเสริมโพรงอากาศแมกซิลลา เพื่อการทํารากเทียมเป็นวิธีที่มีอัตราความสําเร็จสูง และเกิดภาวะแทรกซ้อนน้อย (ว ทันต จุฬาฯ 2558;38:51-66)

เสถียรภาพของสีของเรซินซีเมนต์ชนิดต่างๆ เมื่อแช่ในน้ำกลั่นและไวน์แดง, เกวลิน ปฏิเวธวิทูร, เฉลิมพล ลี้ไวโรจน์

วัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อเปรียบเทียบเสถียรภาพของสีของเรซินซีเมนต์ชนิดต่างๆ จากหลายผลิตภัณฑ์ ซึ่งมีองค์ประกอบและสีแตกต่างกันเมื่อผ่านการแช่ในสารละลายหรือเครื่องดื่มที่สามารถทําให้เกิดการเปลี่ยนสีของวัสดุในช่วงเวลาต่างๆ วัสดุและวิธีการ การศึกษานี้ใช้เรซินซีเมนต์ 6 ผลิตภัณฑ์ ได้แก่ 1) เรซินซีเมนต์ชนิดดั้งเดิม 4 ผลิตภัณฑ์ คือ เน็กซัสสทรีชนิดก่อตัวด้วยแสง (NxL) เน็กซัสสทรีชนิดก่อตัวสองรูปแบบ (NxD) รีไลเอ็กซ์ วีเนียร์ (RvL) และ วาลิโอลิงค์ วีเนียร์ (VvL) 2) เรซินซีเมนต์ชนิดเซลฟ์เอทช์-เซลฟ์แอดฮีซีฟ 2 ผลิตภัณฑ์ คือ แมกเซ็มอีไลท์ (MxD) และ รีไลเอ็กซ์ยูนิเซ็ม แบบแคปซูล (RuD) โดยทําชิ้นงานเป็นแผ่นรูปวงกลมขนาด เส้นผ่านศูนย์กลาง 12 มม. หนา 0.8 มม. ผลิตภัณฑ์ละ 2 สี ได้แก่ สีใสและสีขาวขุ่น กลุ่มละ 20 ชิ้น ทําการวัดสีครั้งแรกภายหลังวัสดุบ่มตัว เพื่อเป็นค่าพื้นฐาน ด้วยเครื่องวัดและเทียบสี (Ultrascan XE, Hunter Lab, USA) จากนั้นแบ่งเป็นกลุ่ม กลุ่มละ 10 ชิ้น เพื่อแช่ในน้ํากลั่นหรือไวน์แดง ที่อุณหภูมิ 37 องศาเซลเซียส ทําการวัดสี ณ เวลา 10 20 30 60 และ 90 วัน แล้วนํามาเปรียบเทียบกับค่าพื้นฐานที่วัดไว้ เพื่อหาค่าการเปลี่ยนแปลงของสี (ΔE*) นําข้อมูลที่ได้มาวิเคราะห์ด้วยสถิติวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนแบบสามทาง ผลการศึกษา เมื่อเรซินซีเมนต์ถูกแช่ในน้ํากลั่นหรือไวน์แดงด้วยเวลาที่นานขึ้น จะมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงของสีเพิ่มขึ้น การเปลี่ยนแปลงสีของเรซินซีเมนต์ที่แช่ในน้ํากลั่น เรียงจากน้อยไปมาก ในกลุ่มสีใส ได้แก่ NxD VVL NxL RvL MxD และ RuD ในกลุ่มสีขาวขุ่น ได้แก่ RuD NxD NxL …

Objective To assess sexual dimorphism and correlation among pharyngeal airway dimensions, bony and soft tissue variables, and skeletal ages. Materials and Methods Four hundred and eighteen pretreatment lateral cephalometric radiographs (183 males, 235 females) of growing Thai orthodontic patients (6-20 years old; mean age, 13.95±3.62 years; divided into 3 skeletal ages, pre-pubertal (CS 1,2), pubertal (CS 3,4), and post-pubertal (CS 5,6)), Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University were collected from 2007-2014. Objective To evaluate the effect of pretreatment and aging process, by means of water storage, on microtensile bond strength (μTBS) of a self-adhesive resin composite to dentin. Objective: This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of physical and mechanical disinfection of P. gingivalis from implant disks and to evaluate bone cells growth and attachment to the disks. Background. Each year, over three million of Americans replacing missing teeth with dental implants. An inflammatory process around an implant that causes bone loss, characterizes peri-implantitis, first diagnosed in the 1980s. The prevalence is approximately 22%. Goal and Objectives: The goal of this study is to assess parental knowledge and experience regarding children's dental insurance, following enactment of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The ACA emphasizes the importance of oral health, making pediatric dental services one of ten essential health benefits. With this major change in health care reform, parents should be equipped to make informed decisions regarding their children's dental care and insurance.
