This research evaluates the effectiveness of a modified mRNA encoding bone morphogenetic protein-2 (m1Ψ-BMP-2 mRNA) with N1-methylpseudouridine modifications on bone regeneration and integration after implantation into rat femur defects. In the study, twelve femurs from six Sprague-Dawley rats underwent titanium wire insertation. These femur defects were then filled with either 5 μg of m1Ψ-BMP-2 mRNA, 15 μg of m1Ψ-BMP-2 mRNA, or Dulbecco's phosphate-buffered saline (dPBS) in a randomized manner (N=4 each group) Six weeks post-implantation, the rats were euthanized for evaluation using micro-computed tomography and a mechanical push-out test. This study aims to assess the implant of varying angulations and insertion-removal cycles on the retentive force of 2 denture attachments. The blocks were produced via 3D printing and divided into 2 groups: the LOCATOR attachment with orange retentive inserts and the LOCATOR R-Tx attachment with pink retentive inserts. Each group was divided into 3 subgroups based on implant angulation at 0-, 15-, and 30-degree implant angulation. The objective of this research was to examine sorption, solubility, and surface properties of three widely used CAD/CAM materials: resin composite (Cerasmart; CS), polymer-infiltrated ceramic network (Vita Enamic; VE) and lithium disilicate glass ceramic (IPS e.max CAD; LS). 45 rectangular-shaped specimens were prepared and immersed in deionized water for varying durations. These specimens were then subjected to evaluate their water sorption, solubility, surface roughness, and surface hardness. The results showed that immersion time significantly impacted water sorption of the tested materials (P.05). This study aimed to assess the repairability among four CAD/CAM blocks repaired with different universal adhesives after aging. The CAD/CAM blocks evaluated were polymer infiltrated ceramic network (VE), zirconium-reinforced lithium silicate ceramic (VS), feldspathic ceramic (VM), and lithium disilicate ceramic (IE). Each original block was prepared to create 120 specimens. After 10,000 cycles of thermocycling, surface pretreatment of each specimen was carried out by grinding and etching with a 9% hydrofluoric acid. However, there remains concerns related to microleakage, which could restrict the application of this material in certain clinical situations. Materials and Methods. Class II cavities were prepared in 80 premolars. Soft tissue is one of many factors that influence the esthetic success of dental implants. This study explores soft tissue reaction between soft tissue covering bone grafted with xenograft and soft tissue in normal healing by analyzing the levels of inflammatory cytokine including TNF-α, IL-6, IL-8 and NF-kB1. Soft tissues are collected after 4 to 6 months of healing and analyzed by reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). This study aimed to evaluate the optical color of different translucencies of CAD/CAM lithium-disilicate ceramics on backgrounds with different values. Low translucency (LT) and medium translucency (MT) rectangular-shaped specimens (0.6 mm thickness, shade A1) were fabricated from IPS e.max CAD (EMC; Ivoclar Vivadent) and Amber Mill (AM; HASS). Six specimens of EMC-MT, EMC-LT, AM-MT, and AM-LT were fabricated, resulting in 24 specimens in total. In the event of proximal contact loss in a zirconia crown on an implant, the zirconia crown can be modified by adding porcelain to recreate the proximal contact. This study investigated the shear bond strength between translucent zirconia (4Y-PSZ) and veneering porcelain compared to conventional zirconia (3Y-TZP). Zirconia substructures were treated with airborne-particle abrasion with Al2O3. The results of the shear bond strength test were analyzed by One-way ANOVA and post-hoc comparisons with Tukey’s honest significant difference (HSD) test. Improperly polymerized self-adhesive resin cements (SARCs) can lead to adverse effects such as periodontitis or peri-implantitis. This in vitro study investigated the effect of 2 light-polymerizing units (LPUs) on the physical and chemical properties of 2 SARCs under varying simulated clinical scenarios and the responses of primary human gingival fibroblasts (hGFs) exposed to such procedures. Background: Mechanical force, caused by orthodontic tooth movement, affects periodontal tissue homeostasis including destruction and formation. For instance, the compression side causes bone resorption while bone formation lines in the tension side. Periodontal ligament cells play roles in modulating periodontal tissue homeostasis as well as regeneration via immunomodulation, proliferation, and migration. Extracellular matrix (ECM) is a cellular microenvironment that aids in cell migration, cell growth, and differentiation and serves as a physical barrier against microorganisms. ความสวยงามในเรื่องสีของฟันเป็นสิ่งหนึ่งที่ผู้ป่วยให้ความสำคัญเมื่อมารับการรักษาทางทันตกรรม โดยการเปลี่ยนสีฟันด้วยสิ่งบูรณะฟันโดยตรง ซึ่งเป็นการบูรณะฟันโดยตรงในช่องปากโดยใช้เรซินคอมโพสิต เป็นทางเลือกในการรักษาที่มีความนิยมมากขึ้น เนื่องจากมีการทำอันตรายต่อฟันน้อยที่สุด แต่ความสามารถในการปิดสีของเรซินคอมโพสิตอาจมีความแตกต่างกันไปตามแต่ละชนิด ถ้าสามารถเลือกชนิดของเรซินคอมโพสิตที่ปิดสีได้ดีในความหนาที่น้อย ก็จะช่วยลดการสูญเสียโครงสร้างฟันได้ งานวิจัยนี้จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเปรียบเทียบสีภายหลังการบูรณะด้วยชนิดของเรซินคอมโพสิตที่แตกต่างกัน โดยการนำเรซินคอมโพสิต 3 ชนิด ได้แก่ เคลียร์ฟิลเอพีเอ็กซ์, เมต้าฟิลซีเอ็กซ์ และฟิลเท็คซีทูไฟว์ซีโร่ ที่มีความหนา 4 ระดับ ได้แก่ 0.5, 1, 1.5 และ 2 มิลลิเมตร มาเปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการปิดสี โดยวัดด้วยตามนุษย์และเครื่องสเปกโทรโฟโตมิเตอร์ และประเมินความแตกต่างโดยใช้การทดสอบแบบครัสคัล-วอลลิสและการวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนทางเดียว ผลการศึกษาพบความแตกต่างอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับความเชื่อมั่นร้อยละ 95 ระหว่างกลุ่มเรซินคอมโพสิตและความหนาที่ต่างกัน กล่าวโดยสรุป เรซินคอมโพสิตชนิดเมต้าฟิลซีเอ็กซ์มีความสามารถในการปิดสีเข้มสุด A6 ได้ดีกว่าเรซินคอมโพสิตชนิดเคลียร์ฟิลเอพีเอ็กซ์และฟิลเท็คซีทูไฟว์ซีโร่ในทุกระดับความหนา โดยเรซินคอมโพสิตชนิดเมต้าฟิลซีเอ็กซ์ที่ความหนาประมาณ 1.5 – 2 มิลลิเมตร สามารถบูรณะฟันสี A6 ให้ได้สีฟันที่ระดับ A1

The stromal cell-derived factor 1 (SDF-1)/chemokine receptor type 4 (CXCR4) axis plays a key role in alveolar bone metabolism during orthodontic tooth movement (OTM). Herein, the effects of the SDF-1/CXCR4 axis on the regional acceleratory phenomenon (RAP) in OTM velocity and on changes in the surrounding periodontium after adjacent tooth extraction in rats were investigated. Six-week-old male Wistar/ST rats underwent left maxillary first molar (M1) extraction and mesial OTM of the left maxillary second molar (M2) with a 10-g force closed-coil spring. This study focused on understanding the oral health and dental prostheses status of patients with mild to moderate dementia at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital. A total of 88 patients participated in this cross-sectional study, which utilized the Oral Health Assessment Tool (OHAT) and modified CDA score to evaluate the oral health of patients with a dementia diagnosis. The study revealed significant oral health issues among participants, particularly in terms of gum and oral tissue problems, and oral cleanliness. การศึกษานี้เป็นการศึกษาไปข้างหน้าจากเหตุไปหาผลในผู้ป่วยเข้ารับการรักษารับการรักษาทางทันตกรรรมประดิษฐ์จำนวน 87 คน ผลลัพธ์ของการศึกษาคือคุณภาพชีวิตในมิติสุขภาพช่องปากและคุณภาพชีวิตในมิติสุขภาพ โดยใช้ดัชนีประเมินผลกระทบของสุขภาพช่องปากต่อสมรรถภาพในชีวิตประจำวันและเครื่องมือวัดคุณภาพชีวิตขององค์การอนามัยโลกฉบับย่อ ตามลำดับ ตัวแปรร่วม ได้แก่ ลักษณะทั่วไป สภาวะสุขภาพและสภาวะสุขภาพช่องปาก เก็บข้อมูลโดยการสัมภาษณ์ การตรวจในช่องปากและการศึกษาจากแฟ้มประวัติ หลังการแก้ไขฟันเทียมครั้งสุดท้าย 1 เดือน เก็บข้อมูลคุณภาพชีวิตในมิติสุขภาพช่องปากและคุณภาพชีวิตในมิติสุขภาพโดยการสัมภาษณ์ทางโทรศัพท์ ใช้การทดสอบของการทดสอบวิลคอกซันวิเคราะห์การเปลี่ยนแปลงของคะเเนน OIDP และ WHOQOL-BREF เวลาก่อนและหลังการรักษา ข้อมูลทั้งหมดวิเคราะห์ที่ระดับนัยสำคัญร้อยละ 5 ผลการศึกษาแสดงว่าหลังการรักษาผู้เข้าร่วมการศึกษามีคะแนน OIDP รวมลดลงอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ และคะแนน WHOQOL-BREF รวมเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ โดยที่เวลาก่อนการรักษาปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อคะแนน OIDP รวมคือจำนวนฟันธรรมชาติและจำนวนคู่สบฟันหลัง ในขณะที่ปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อคะแนน WHOQOL-BREF รวมคือสถานภาพสมรสและความเพียงพอของรายได้ จึงสรุปได้ว่าภายหลังการรักษาทางทันตกรรมประดิษฐ์ผู้ป่วยมีคุณภาพชีวิตในมิติสุขภาพช่องปากและคุณภาพชีวิตในมิติสุขภาพดีขึ้น

In this study, we evaluated the esthetic perceptions of prosthodontists, general practitioners, and laypeople in elderly smile, using varying the exposure of the maxillary incisors in rest position and a full smile, size of buccal corridor and gingival display of maxillary posterior teeth. The picture of elderly smile was modified and shown with randomized sequence. Participants are asked to rate each image by using a numerical visual analog scale (0-10 scale). Cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) is a skeletal disorder affecting the skull, teeth, and clavicles, and is associated with the RUNX2 variants. We identified the five variants from five families, three were novel, comprising c.739delA (p.(Ser247Valfs*)), c.901C>T (p.(Gln301*)), and c.1081C>T (p.(Gln361*)) and two were reported, comprising c.673C>T (p.Arg225Trp) and c.674G>A (p.Arg225Gln). All patients exhibited typical CCD features, but we observed the unreported phenotypes, left forth-ray brachymetatarsia. In recent years, myofunctional therapy has emerged as a noninvasive treatment modality for patients suffering from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), owing to its lower cost and reduced risk of serious side effects compared to other therapeutic options. Furthermore, myofunctional therapy may be considered for patients who cannot tolerate continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) or oral appliances. However, ankyloglossia, a congenital condition characterized by restricted tongue movement, has been shown to limit the exercise regimen and compromise the effectiveness of myofunctional therapy. การศึกษานี้จึงมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาระดับความรู้และทัศนคติต่อภาวะหยุดหายใจขณะหลับจากการอุดกั้นของทันตแพทย์ในประเทศไทยจำนวน 494 คน ระหว่างเดือนกรกฎาคมถึงกันยายน พ.ศ.2565 โดยใช้แบบสอบถามออนไลน์ประกอบด้วย 3 ส่วนได้แก่ ข้อมูลทั่วไป ความรู้ และทัศนคติ ผลการศึกษาพบว่าทันตแพทย์มีระดับความรู้น้อย จำนวน 275 คน (ร้อยละ 56.9) เกี่ยวกับคำจำกัดความของโรค พยาธิสรีรวิทยา การวินิจฉัยและการรักษา และผลคะแนนความรู้มีความแตกต่างอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับความเชื่อมั่นร้อยละ 95 ของคะแนนความรู้ระหว่างทันตแพทย์ที่เคยฝึกอบรมและไม่เคยฝึกอบรมเกี่ยวกับภาวะหยุดหายใจขณะหลับจากการอุดกั้น ทั้งในและนอกระบบมหาวิทยาลัยทันตแพทยศาสตร์บัณฑิต และระหว่างทันตแพทย์ที่เคยมีประสบการณ์และไม่เคยมีประสบการณ์ในการตรวจคัดกรองผู้ป่วยที่มีภาวะหยุดหายใจขณะหลับจากการอุดกั้น แต่พบว่าทันตแพทย์ผู้ร่วมวิจัยส่วนใหญ่มีทัศนคติเชิงบวกต่อความสำคัญว่าภาวะหยุดหายใจขณะหลับจากการอุดกั้นอาจคุกคามถึงชีวิต และมีความมั่นใจในการตรวจคัดกรองและให้การจัดการภาวะหยุดหายใจขณะหลับจากการอุดกั้น โดยจำนวนร้อยละ 76 เห็นด้วยอย่างยิ่งว่าภาวะหยุดหายใจขณะหลับจากการอุดกั้นเป็นโรคที่มีความสำคัญเพราะอาจคุกคามถึงชีวิตได้ สรุปว่าทันตแพทย์ไทยยังมีระดับความรู้น้อยแต่มีทัศนคติที่ดีต่อภาวะหยุดหายใจขณะหลับจากการอุดกั้น บ่งชี้ให้เห็นว่าทันตแพทย์เห็นคุณค่า รวมถึงให้ความสำคัญและเต็มใจที่จะเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับภาวะหยุดหายใจขณะหลับจากการอุดกั้น

Objective: This study aimed to translate and validate the Xerostomia Inventory (XI) and Summated Xerostomia Inventory (SXI) -Thai version in Thai middle-aged and older adults Methods: This study was a cross-sectional study which consisted of translation and validation phases. The XI and SXI were cross-culturally forward and backward translated and validated in 200 middle-aged and older Thai adults. The validity relied on the content, construct, and criterion validity. The reliability was determined by internal consistency. Results: The translation was done with good content validity.
