Objectives: Evaluation of dentin micro-hardness, dentinal erosion and antibacterial efficiency against E.faecalis after irrigation with sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) followed by grape seed extract (GSE)solution versus irrigation with NaOCl followed by EDTA.

Materials and Methods: Regarding dentin micro-hardness test; 16 teeth were divided into 2 groups; intervention (5.25%NaOCl+13%GSE) and comparator (5.25%NaOCl+17%EDTA) groups. Each tooth was decoronated and sectioned vertically. Dentin microhardness was evaluated before and after irrigation at the coronal, middle and apical thirds. Tooth transposition is a rare developmental dental anomaly of unknown etiology. It exhibits a clinical challenge due to the presence of 2 teeth in a narrow buccolingual thickness of bone that had interchanged in position; care should be taken to avoid root proximity during movement of the transposed teeth during orthodontic treatment. The acceptance of tooth transposition could be considered the safest method of treatment on the root structure and the surrounding periodontium of the transposed teeth. Correction of tooth transposition could be tried in cases of maxillary lateral incisor canine transposition to avoid adverse effects on esthetics.

Dental caries is formed by the group of microorganisms attached to a tooth surface embedded in a matrix of polymers. Biofilm plays an important role in the development of dental caries, plaque and other periodontal diseases. The present study is aimed to isolate, identify and characterize bacteria from dental caries. The ability of biofilm formation of these isolates was confirmed by Congo red agar method, Tube method and Microtitre plate method. High biofilm-forming bacteria were identified by 16S rRNA sequencing. Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus anginosus, Enterococcus faecalis and Rothia dentocariosa are the predominant biofilm forming bacteria associated with dental caries.
