Four rooted maxillary second molar is a rare condition. A research of 1,200 maxillary second molars found only 0.4% of the sample with this condition. In a tooth with two palatal roots, one of them is the normal palatal root, while the other is a supernumerary structure which can be found mesiolingually (radix mesiolingualis) or distolingually (radix distolingualis). Objective: to describes a successful root canal treatment of a maxillary second molar with radix mesiolingualis. Bleaching is a well-known esthetic dental treatment performed to lighten the tooth shade. Among different cosmetic dental procedures, including direct and indirect tooth-colored restorations, bleaching is likely the most conservative approach. Bleaching has been accepted well by patients and proven as a safe and effective approach. Objective: Tooth bleaching can be conducted at home or in offices. Sodium hypochlorite is a commonly used irrigation solution in endodontic procedures, but it irritates tissues and has toxic effects. Lentinus edodes is a mushroom that has antibacterial properties. Enterococcus faecalis is an anaerobic bacterium that can cause root canal treatment failure. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of L. edodes extract on the eradication of E. faecalis biofilms. Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the cyclic fatigue resistance of three heat-Treated nickel-Titanium (NiTi) systems at simulated body temperature. Materials and Methods: Twelve instruments of similar apical diameter (#25) from three engine-driven NiTi instruments; WaveOne Gold (WOG), Hyflex EDM (HEDM), and M Pro system were tested for cyclic fatigue resistance at 37°C in simulated root canals with 60° angle of curvature and 5 mm curvature radius. Aim: To compare the accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of CBCT imaging and two dimensional periapical radiography in detection of separated intracanal endodontic instruments with and without root canal filling. Methodology: Eighty (n=80) extracted mandibular molars were randomly divided into four groups (n=20); control, fracture/non-filled, non-fracture/filled, and fracture/filled. Molars were placed in a mandible for imaging. Localized gingival overgrowths (LGOs) are relatively common clinical findings. These lesions can be associated with chronic irritation, infections, or they can represent benign or malignant tumors that can either be primary or metastatic. The etiology of these lesions is multifactorial, but the most prevalent cause is reactive hyperplasia and inflammation induced by dental plaque. Objective: This retrospective study aimed to determine the profile of patients who underwent single tooth implants between 2013 and 1017 and to evaluate long-term follow-up and success. Methods: The results of 79 patients who underwent single dental intra-bone dental implantation in Diyarbakır Oral and Dental Health Hospital between 2013 and 2017 were evaluated separately in terms of gender, age, implanted area and number, systemic diseases affecting implant health, and missing implants. Objective: This study was done to evaluate the effect of the prepared Moringa oleifera-based root canal irrigant compared to conventionally used irrigants on the microhardness of root dentin and smear layer removal.

Objectives To evaluate the shaping ability of four different single-file systems using micro-computed tomography (micro-CT). Materials and Methods Eighty mesiobuccal and mesiolingual canals of permanent mandibular molars were randomly assigned to four groups according to the file used; WaveOne Gold, RECIPROC Blue, HyFlex EDM, and One Shape (n = 20). The samples were scanned using micro-CT for the preinstrumentation record; then the canals were instrumented and scanned for the postinstrumentation records. Endodontic sealers for non-surgical root canal treatment (NSRCT) span many compositions and attributes. This comprehensive review discusses current types of endodontic sealers by their setting reaction type, composition, and properties: zinc oxide-eugenol, salicylate, fatty acid, glass ionomer, silicone, epoxy resin, tricalcium silicate, and methacrylate resin sealers. Setting time, solubility, sealing ability, antimicrobial, biocompatibility, and cytotoxicity are all aspects key to the performance of endodontic sealers. Aims Preservation of peri-cervical dentin during the preparation of endodontic access is important to prevent fractures and improve the long-term prognosis. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of rotary file instrumentation (TruNatomy and XP-Endo Shaper) on peri-cervical dentin removal, depending on access size. Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the frequency and amount of Ca(OH)2 extrusion in relation to the intracanal delivery technique, apical foramen size, and depth of placement. Methods: Standardized training blocks with j-shaped canals were used (n=64); half of the simulated canals were shaped to apical size #35(.06 taper) and the remaining 32 to #45(.06). The frequency and extent of Ca(OH)2 extrusion were measured relative to apical taper, the depth of insertion, and whether syringe or spiral filler was used. Purpose: To determine how endodontic practitioners are currently managing cases of invasive cervical resorption. Also, to analyze how invasive cervical resorption (ICR) has been managed at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) over the past ten years.
Methods: Both domestic and international endodontists were invited to participate in a 14-question survey developed and administered via REDCap. Survey invitations were sent via email to currently practicing endodontists. Electronic dental records were queried for patients diagnosed with ICR at VCU in the preceding ten years. Introduction: External cervical resorption (ECR) is a destructive type of external resorption that can be difficult to treat. ECR usually begins subgingival at the cementoenamel junction of teeth and continues apically and circumferentially. This substantial loss of tooth structure may make these teeth more prone to fracture and should be addressed when treatment planning teeth with ECR. Background: Referred odontogenic pain (RP) is a phenomenon that is seen regularly in dentistry and it is not extensively understood. It can make formulating a proper diagnosis difficult and its presence can lead to inappropriate treatment.
Methods: 250 patients experiencing odontogenic pain within the dental clinics of West Virginia University were surveyed. การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาส่วนประกอบทางเคมีและคุณสมบัติทางกายภาพของ ไตรแคลเซียมซิลิเกตซีเมนต์ชนิดก่อตัวเร็วที่สังเคราะห์ขึ้นจากห้องปฏิบัติการเพื่อใช้ในสำหรับงานทันตกรรม สังเคราะห์ไตรแคลเซียมซิลิเกตโดยการเผาซิลิกา (SiO2) กับแคลเซียมคาร์บอเนต (CaCO3) ที่อุณหภูมิ 1450 องศาเซลเซียสเป็นเวลา 2 ชั่วโมง ทดสอบส่วนประกอบทางเคมีของไตรแคลเซียมซิลิเกตที่สังเคราะห์ได้โดยวิธีการเลี้ยวเบนรังสีเอ็กซ์ (XRD) และเอกซเรย์ฟลูโอเรสเซนส์ (XRF) จากนั้นนำผงไตรแคลเซียมซิลิเกตผสมกับเซอร์คอนในสัดส่วนร้อยละ 10 20 และ 30 เพื่อเป็นความทึบรังสี และใช้lสารละลายแคลเซียมคลอไรด์เข้มข้นร้อยละ 20 เพื่อเร่งปฏิกิริยา เพื่อให้เป็นไตรแคลเซียมซิลิเกตซีเมนต์ชนิดก่อตัวเร็ว จากนั้นทดสอบคุณสมบัติทางกายภาพได้แก่เวลาแข็งตัวขั้นต้นและสมบูรณ์ ความทนแรงกด ความทึบรังสี และความเป็นกรด-ด่าง โดยอ้างอิงจากมาตรฐานไอเอสโอ 6876 (2012) และ 9917 (2007) จากการทดสอบส่วนประกอบทางเคมีพบว่าส่วนผงของไตรแคลเซียมซิลิเกตซีเมนต์มีส่วนประกอบหลักเป็นไตรแคลเซียมซิลิเกตเช่นเดียวกับไบโอเดนทีน ไตรแคลเซียมซิลิเกตซีเมนต์มีเวลาแข็งตัวที่นานขึ้นเมื่อมีสัดส่วนของเซอร์คอนมากขึ้น โดยมีเวลาแข็งตัวไม่แตกต่างจากไบโอเดนทีนอย่างมีนัยสำคัญเมื่อมีเซอร์คอนร้อยละ 20 เมื่อผสมเซอร์คอนมากกว่าร้อยละ 10 ส่งผลให้ไตรแคลเซียมซิลิเกตซีเมนต์มีความทนแรงกดมากขึ้นและไม่แตกต่างจาก ไบโอเดนทีน ไตรแคลเซียมซิลิเกตซีเมนต์ที่มีเซอร์คอนร้อยละ 20 และ 30 มีความทึบรังสีมากกว่า ไบโอเดนทีน (5.64 และ 6.47 มิลลิเมตรของอะลูมิเนียม) ปริมาณเซอร์คอนที่ต่างกันไม่ส่งผลทำให้ความเป็นกรด-ด่างของไตรแคลเซียมซิลิเกตซีเมนต์เปลี่ยนแปลง โดยมีค่าความเป็นกรด-ด่างมากกว่าไบโอเดนทีนในช่วงเวลา 3 ชั่วโมงถึง 3 สัปดาห์ (ประมาณ 21.1 ถึง 12.8) ดังนั้นไตรแคลเซียมซิลิเกตซีเมนต์ที่มีเซอร์คอนร้อยละ 20 มีคุณสมบัติทางกายภาพที่เหมาะสมสำหรับการใช้งานทางทันตกรรม

Endodontic failures are mainly caused by persistence of microorganisms in the root canal system. The purpose of this experimental study was to evaluate wear characteristics and retention force of the RetenDent mini-implant overdenture system (Chulalongkorn product) after the insertion-removal fatigue test. One-piece mini-implants attachment system for overdenture, Osstem MS denture® type implant (OSSTEM, Germany GmbH), and RetenDent mini-implant were tested. All samples were subjected to repeated insertion and removal fatigue cycles by the universal testing machine (E1000, INSTRON Instrument, England). Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine if treatment plans differ when evaluating previously endodontically treated molars using periapical images (PA’s) alone versus PA’s and CBCT.
Methods: A retrospective cohort chart review was conducted including 67 previously treated molars that had a CBCT taken. Two calibrated board-certified endodontists evaluated standard PA’s. A data sheet questionnaire regarding radiographic findings and treatment plan decisions was completed. Two weeks later, the same steps were repeated but the examiners evaluated both PA’s and CBCT images and again arrived at a recommended treatment plan.

Purpose: Pulp canal obliteration (PCO) is a common sequela of dental trauma, caries, restorations and vital pulp therapy procedures. Despite the application of high magnification and CBCT imaging, access cavity preparation for such cases is prone to procedural errors that may lead to substantial loss of dentin structure thereby reducing the long-term prognosis.
