Purpose: This quality improvement project aimed to implement a standardized measles susceptibility screening strategy for perinatal patients at a large academic teaching hospital in Texas. The project aimed to improve provider compliance with routine measles immunity screening and laboratory ordering by integrating screening into existing prenatal workflows. Background: Measles remains a highly contagious disease, and ongoing outbreaks in Texas showed gaps in prenatal measles immunity screening. The absence of standardized screening increases the risk of missed opportunities to identify non-immune patients and provide appropriate follow-up. Purpose: This quality improvement project evaluated the impact of a Rapid Response Team (RRT)-led proactive rounding model on the early recognition of clinical deterioration and selected patient outcomes.

Background: Delays in recognizing clinical deterioration contribute to preventable adverse events, highlighting the need for proactive strategies to support early identification and timely intervention. To address this need, the project was implemented on a 36-bed intermediate care unit at a community medical center in Southeast United States.

Decreasing Skin Infections in High School Wrestlers

PURPOSE The purpose of this quality improvement project was to reduce the skin infection rates by implementing protocols designed to prevent infections by focusing on disinfection and screening practices. The project aims to reduce skin infection rates in wrestlers at a private boy’s high school. Long-term goals include enhancing awareness among high school wrestlers to maintain a healthy lifestyle and prevent sport-related skin infections.

BACKGROUND The project was implemented in a private boy’s high school wrestling team composed of 50 wrestlers in grades 9-12, located in Houston, Texas.
