Xenotransplantation is currently being pursued as one such alternative in adults in need of kidney or heart transplantation. Cardiac xenotransplantation of genetically modified pig hearts has been conducted twice in adults under the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expanded access criteria. Exogenous steroids are a staple of modern medicine, with utility in a variety of direct and supplemental treatment modalities. However, all pharmaceuticals are undoubtedly coupled with unique side effect profiles, and steroids are no exception. In the case presented, the assessment and management of a 36-year-old male who inappropriately self-administered high-dose steroids for prolonged periods of time is reviewed. In doing so, attention is drawn to both the impact of glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis and the greater risk of online availability of these powerful medications.

Endoscopic biliary stenting is a well-established intervention for the treatment of biliary, hepatic, and pancreatic disorders. The common indications include strictures, neoplasms, stones, infections, and bile leaks. Stents can be occluded, predisposing patients to ascending cholangitis and biliary sepsis. Distal stent migration is another known complication of endoscopic stenting and is usually spontaneous. Bowel perforation, abscesses, bleeding, and pancreatitis are rare complications of distal stent migration and are usually limited to the duodenum. Herein, we describe an extremely rare case of bilio-cecal stent migration presenting as rectal bleeding.

INTRODUCTION: Psoriasis is an immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease. First-line topical treatments include steroids, calcineurin inhibitors, vitamin D analogs, and anthralin. Recently, novel topical therapeutics like tapinarof and roflumilast have emerged with unique anti-inflammatory mechanisms and promising efficacy profiles.

MATERIALS AND METHODS: This review utilized PubMed, SCOPUS, and Web of Science databases to identify recent studies on tapinarof and roflumilast. Criteria focused on efficacy, safety profiles, and therapeutic roles in psoriasis treatment.

There is limited data available on the impact of hyperlipidemia (HLD) on VA-ECMO patients. Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative disease that mainly affects articular cartilage of joints. OA most commonly affects the knees and causes pain and reduces quality of life in older adults. Blood flow restriction (BFR) occludes arterial and venous flow during exercise using a blood pressure cuff placed on the proximal lower limb. This creates an intramuscular hypoxic environment which promotes muscle hypertrophy. High load training can cause pain and inflammation in knee OA patients due to increased stress. We present the case of a 7-year-old female diagnosed with EWS of the right cuboid, detailing the management and outcomes of this rare presentation. The patient, now almost 5 years post-initial local control, exhibits restored foot function, a normalized gait, and no evidence of disease recurrence. We report a case of a 28-year-old male with months of diffuse, pleuritic, intermittent, non-exertional chest pain. He had an elevated troponin and ECG showing Wellens’ syndrome and was found to have 80% LAD coronary artery occlusion and 100% apical occlusion. Identification and proper management of Wellens’ syndrome relies on being familiar with its ECG patterns. Other information such as age, cardiac risk factors, chest pain with exertion and at rest, and elevated troponin, are all helpful supplemental information, but as demonstrated in the following case report, presentations may vary or even cause as distractors to the diagnosis.
