Depression in adolescents is rising each year. Early detection of depression has been shown to result in better health outcomes and success in school. This scoping review aims to evaluate the implementation of universal depression screenings in the high school setting and how this detection of depression and initiation of treatment.

Methods

From August 2022 to November 2023, we used the Medline, PubMed, Elsevier, Google Scholar, and PsycINFO databases, using specific keywords related to depression in adolescents. This retrospective chart review examined female patients (N=25) who had a postpartum hemorrhage. Electronic medical records from Regional One Health were queried for ICD-10 072 related codes from January 1, 2021-October 31, 2023. Of those, a maximum of 25 charts were identified and the information was deidentified. All data was de-identified, coded, encrypted, housed, and locked securely. This scoping review examines the use of dexmedetomidine in the perioperative period in adults ≥ 65 years old to prevent and treat postoperative delirium.

The urinalysis (UA) is usually the initial study in UC settings used to guide decisions regarding initiating empiric antibiotics and/or pursuing urine culture. Among these, gastrointestinal (GI) health is particularly significant, as digestive disorders can lead to severe consequences, like malnutrition and stunted growth. By incorporating routine GI screenings, school nurses can promote the early detection of disease, allowing for timely intervention and improved health outcomes in children.

Research shows that early interventions for first-episode psychosis lead to remissions and prevention of relapses.
