Background: Telomere length (TL) is a biomarker of biological aging and a predictor of age-related diseases. Dietary patterns, including dairy consumption, may influence telomere dynamics, but the evidence remains limited, particularly in Asian populations. This study investigates the association between dairy consumption and relative telomere length (RTL) in Taiwanese adults, with results analyzed by hypertension status.

The purpose of this learning experience is for students to differentiate between and practice appropriate use of IPASS and ISBARR in a standardized patient during an interactive patient experience using virtual simulation (VSIM), which mimics the complex reality of a clinical patient scenario. BACKGROUND: Depressive symptoms and anxiety are highly prevalent among people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), strongly associated with poor outcomes, and rarely recognized or treated. Integrating families into interventions may amplify supportive care treatment effects and overcome common challenges, yet this strategy is understudied. Background: Risk factors for severe respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) illness include early infancy, premature birth, and underlying medical conditions. Childhood cancer survivors (CCS) face complex long-term health consequences resulting from intensive treatments that may impact their aging trajectory. This study assessed the associations between social role attainment, emotional distress, and indicators of successful aging (SA) among adult CCS, considering treatment intensity. SA, is a multidimensional concept encompassing physical, cognitive, and psychosocial well-being, provides a framework for understanding and optimizing outcomes in this population. This article presents the case of Mr. C, a patient who received over 65 imaging tests without any pathology ever being found. The case is well-explained by a social science concept known as the clinical gaze, a socio-cognitive process of assigning pathological explanations to diseased bodies. This article provides some historical context for the concept and applies it to the case of Mr. C. When viewed through a social science lens, the excess imaging underwent by Mr. C transforms from something seemingly irrational to an almost inevitable outcome of the modern medical diagnostic process.

Physicians often face the decision between following rigid hospital protocol and doing the right thing for the patient, creating moral distress and contributing to burnout. This letter describes a case in which an elderly patient with COVID-19 pneumonia and a DNI order developed worsening hypercapnia and required noninvasive ventilation. Despite clinical appropriateness, hospital policy prohibited BiPAP use in obtunded patients due to aspiration risk - even when the resident offered continuous bedside monitoring. However, they exhibit limited biological specificity and do not adequately reflect the dynamic, disease-relevant complexity of native tissue microenvironments. Background: Robotic-assisted Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (R-PCI) is an advanced technique offering potential advantages for both patients and interventional cardiology practices. In 2023, Can Tho S.I.S General Hospital implemented its first robotic system for PCI procedures. This study aimed to evaluate the safety and clinical outcomes during the early learning curve of R-PCI.

Methods: This prospective study included all patients undergoing R-PCI with the CorPath GRX Vascular Robotic System at Can Tho S.I.S General Hospital from April to September 2023. Baseline patient characteristics, procedural details, and six-month follow-up data were collected. Primary outcomes included Clinical Success, defined as < 30% residual diameter stenosis in the target vessel without major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) during hospitalization (e.g., death, myocardial infarction, target-vessel revascularization, stroke), and robotic success, defined as achieving clinical success with partial manual support or no manual support.
