Background One-third of maintenance hemodialysis (HD) patients develop severe secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT). Parathyroidectomy (PTx) is recommended for resistant SHPT, but calcimimetics have reduced the need for surgery. Aim of the work: to compare biochemical and QoL parameters in HD patients with SHPT who underwent PTx to those treated medically. Background Schistosomiasis is a prevalent fibrotic disease characterized by inflammation and fibrous tissue deposition around Schistosoma eggs trapped in the hepatic tissue. The most prevalent chromosomal disorder is Down syndrome (DS). Neurodevelopmental disorders are highly associated with Down syndrome, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Down syndrome is also distinguished by intellectual disability and developmental delays, with many affected individuals presenting manifestations of ADHD like inattention or hyperactivity. Differentiating ADHD from overlapping DS-related cognitive deficits remains a diagnostic dilemma. This research investigated the association between UAI levels and cardiovascular disease risk in Egyptian patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM).
