PURPOSE: Several organizations have developed educational materials to provide stakeholders with information about the health risks of early sport specialization (ESS), though the impact of these efforts is not yet known. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to describe and assess the effect of an educational intervention on parental knowledge and perceptions of ESS. We hypothesized that a video-based educational intervention would increase parental knowledge and change perceptions of ESS. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the prevalence of face-to-face workplace bullying (WPB) and cyber-WPB in various athletic training practice settings and whether differences exist. We also sought to examine the relationship between the above modes of WPB.

Method: A cross-sectional design, using the Athletic Training Workplace Environment survey, including the Negative Acts Questionnaire—Revised (NAQ-R), explored whether participants perceived WPB had occurred. Collaborative teamwork needs to be fostered early and often to meet contemporary practice ideals. This qualitative phenomenological designed study’s purpose was to investigate student physical therapists (SPTs) and student physical therapist assistants' (SPTAs) perceptions of an intraprofessional online activity reflective of contemporary home health and telehealth settings. A convenience sample of 25 SPTs from one program and 24 SPTAs from another program met synchronously online to view a video case of an ambulatory patient with dementia, develop a plan of care, and discuss appropriate interventions reflective of practice in Virginia. Purpose: This case outlines the complexity of differential diagnosis and management of headache-related symptoms when multiple diagnoses are present, implication for patient well-being, and the need for improved healthcare provider preparation. Case Presentation: A 16-year-old female equestrian athlete, competitive in eventing, presented with headaches, dizziness, and syncope events, with no history of head or neck trauma. This case report follows the injury presentation and return to pitching of two NCAA Division II baseball pitchers. A literature review is provided to detail the current prevalence and epidemiology related to injuries to the throwing arm of pitchers. The review also outlines current procedures for returning a baseball pitcher to pitching from the mound. The authors discuss key concepts related to progressing previously injured pitchers back to pitching from the mound, while using the two cases presented as exemplars for using the objective, goal oriented, and adaptable interval throwing program developed at the pitchers’ university.

This analysis explores how stimulant addictions—specifically cocaine, methamphetamines, and nicotine—impact the brain's reward system, comparing these effects with those seen in Internet Addiction (IA). Drawing from functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies, it assesses changes in key brain regions involved in reward processing, craving, and cognitive control related to these addictive behaviors. The analysis investigates how each stimulant affects dopaminergic transmission and disrupts reward circuitry, highlighting both similarities and differences in brain activation patterns linked to addiction. A case-control study at AL-Sadar Teaching Hospital/Al-Najaf Center found a negative correlation between serum omentin-1 levels and diabetic nephropathy, suggesting early detection of microvascular complications. Long-term diabetes increases the risk of complications, including nephropathy, which worsens over time. High blood pressure is a common comorbidity among diabetics, and careful glycemic control is necessary in advanced stages. Omentin-1 plays a role in enhancing insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism, but further investigation is needed to determine diabetic nephropathy severity in T2DM patients.

Medical students with disabilities constitute 7.6% of allopathic (MD) and 4.3% of osteopathic (DO) programs, and they are entitled to reasonable accommodation, per the Americans with Disabilities Act. However, research has demonstrated that disabled medical students often encounter barriers when accessing accommodations. In response to these barriers, Medical Students with Chronic Illness and Disability (MSDCI) National created the MSDCI Guide to Accessing Disability Accommodations During Undergraduate Medical Education (the Guide). BACKGROUND: The increasing prevalence of obesity has raised concerns about its impact on surgical outcomes and healthcare costs. This study evaluates the influence of Body Mass Index (BMI) on intraoperative costs and operative times during open Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion (TLIF) procedures using a Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing (TDABC) approach.

METHODS: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 279 patients who underwent TLIF between 2019 and 2022. Patients were categorized into 5 BMI cohorts: healthy weight (BMI 18.5-24.99), overweight (BMI 25.0-29.99), Class I obese (BMI 30.0-34.99), Class II obese (BMI 35.0-39.99), and Class III obese (BMI >40).
