Everyday actions often involve reaching for targets sensed by auditory and proprioceptive senses (reaching a ringing smartphone in the dark or tapping on it while holding it with the other hand). However, it is still unclear whether reaching performance toward auditory and proprioceptive targets is modality-specific and whether performance improves under multisensory compared to unisensory conditions. Here, we addressed these questions by measuring reaching performance toward auditory, proprioceptive, and combined audio-proprioceptive targets along the azimuth and depth dimensions. Sleep irregularity has been linked to multiple deleterious consequences in clinical populations or community adults and adolescents, but little is known about young adults. In this study, we explored the relationships between two measures of sleep regularity and a wide range of factors (lifestyle behaviors, subjective sleep, clinical outcomes, and academic performance) in a sample of female, university students in the United Arab Emirates. Chronic care manages long-term, progressive conditions, while acute care addresses short-term conditions. Chronic conditions increasingly strain health systems, which are often unprepared for these demands. This study examines the burden of conditions requiring acute versus chronic care, including sequelae. Conditions and sequelae from the Global Burden of Diseases Study 2019 were classified into acute or chronic care categories. Data were analysed by age, sex, and socio-demographic index, presenting total numbers and contributions to burden metrics such as Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs), Years Lived with Disability (YLD), and Years of Life Lost (YLL). Skeletal muscle fibrosis is one of the significant pathological manifestations of age-associated sarcopenia. Decorin, a small dermatan-sulfate proteoglycan, participates in extracellular matrix assembly. We will undertake a retrospective cohort study of recorded births in 2023 from 24 to 42 weeks' gestation for women aged from 16 to 49 years in the United States. BACKGROUND: Intellectual developmental disorder with autism and macrocephaly (IDDAM, OMIM #615032) is an autosomal dominant neurodevelopmental disorder characterized primarily by intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, macrocephaly, tall stature, gastrointestinal symptoms, and variable neurological manifestations. Most cases result from de novo pathogenic variants in CHD8.

METHODS: We conducted genome sequencing through the Undiagnosed Diseases Network (UDN) in a female proband harboring a CHD8 variant of uncertain significance (VUS), whose clinical presentation was consistent with IDDAM but included atypical features such as ptosis and hearing loss. OBJECTIVE: Autosomal dominant progranulin (GRN) pathogenic variants are a genetic cause of frontotemporal lobar degeneration. Though clinical trials for GRN-related therapies are underway, there is an unmet need for biomarkers that can predict symptom onset and track disease progression. We previously showed that asymptomatic GRN variant carriers exhibit thalamocortical hyperconnectivity that increases with age, presumably as they are approaching symptom onset. PURPOSE: Synchronous bilateral breast cancer (SBBC) presents significant radiotherapy planning challenges due to complex target volumes near critical organs. This study evaluated RapidArc Dynamic (RAD), a novel technique integrating dynamic arcs with static angle modulated ports (STAMPs) via simultaneous GPU-accelerated optimization, against conventional volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) for SBBC treatment planning and delivery efficiency.

OBJECTIVE: The optimal treatment for neurosarcoidosis myelitis is uncertain. We characterize incident neurosarcoidosis myelitis and assess treatment response by MRI and clinical scales.

METHODS: Incident probable or definite neurosarcoidosis myelitis in adults was retrospectively identified from 13 academic medical centers. Cases were analyzed by initial treatment. The primary outcome was T1 post-contrast gadolinium enhancement resolution at 6 months post-treatment. Secondary outcomes were changes in modified Rankin scale (mRS) and Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) from nadir to final follow-up.

PACT (encoded by the PRKRA gene) is a double-stranded RNA binding protein with defined antiviral defense and cytoplasmic RNA-induced silencing actions in mammals. We previously described a further role for PACT as a modulator of nuclear receptor (NR)-regulated gene expression. Here, we investigated the role of PACT in prostate cancer (PCa) using a loss-of-function approach. Depletion of PACT in multiple PCa cell lines resulted in a reduction in cell proliferation, but viability was maintained. Lack of reliable diagnostics for the presence, type and severity of infection in patients presenting to emergency departments with non-specific symptoms poses considerable challenges. We developed TriVerity, which uses isothermal amplification of 29 mRNAs and machine learning algorithms on the Myrna instrument to determine likelihoods of bacterial infection, viral infection and need for critical care interventions within 7 days. To validate TriVerity, the SEPSIS-SHIELD study enrolled 1,222 patients with clinically adjudicated infection status and need for critical care intervention within 7 days as endpoints. Background: Despite the growing popularity of osteopathy in France, little is known about how French osteopaths conceptualise key aspects of their practice, including skills, knowledge, and decision-making. This study aimed to adapt and validate the Osteopaths' Therapeutic Approaches Questionnaire (Osteo-TAQ) for use in a French osteopathic population (Osteo-TAQfr) and to examine the professional profile and core elements of clinical practice among French osteopaths.
