OBJECTIVE: To determine whether school infrastructure is associated with health and academic outcomes among elementary school children with asthma.

METHODS: We conducted a retrospective cohort study of linked medical, academic, and facilities data from a large mid-Atlantic school district of the United States. All K-5 students with asthma who were enrolled under the state's Children's Health Insurance Program were included. Introduction: Preeclampsia (PE) is a hypertensive disorder during pregnancy associated with elevated levels of soluble FMS-like tyrosine kinase (sFLT-1) and increased vascular sensitivity to angiotensin II (ATII). Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CALCA) is a potent vasodilator that inhibits the ATII-induced increase in blood pressure and protects against ATII-induced increases in oxidative stress through a mitochondrial-dependent pathway in male mice. In rodent pregnancy, CALCA facilitates pregnancy-induced vascular adaptation. Most of the vascular effects of CALCA are mediated by vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs). Given persistent occupational stressors and multiple challenges in the delivery of healthcare, there is an increased focus on the well-being of healthcare workers. Responding to these challenges will require a multipronged approach, focusing on system level, organization, and individual actions. Positive psychology interventions (PPIs) represent a promising area for individual action. This systematic review indicates that PPI, delivered via many methods, holds promise for improving the well-being of healthcare workers, although there is a clear need for additional randomized controlled trials utilizing defined and standardized outcome measures. Activated protein C resistance (APC-R) due to the single-nucleotide polymorphism factor V Leiden (FVL) is the most common cause of hereditary thrombophilia. It is found predominantly in Caucasians and is uncommon or absent in other populations. Although FVL is responsible for >90% of cases of hereditary APC-R, a number of other F5 variants that also confer various degrees of APC-R and thrombotic risk have been described. Stress cardiomyopathy was noted to occur at a higher incidence during coronavirus disease of 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. This database analysis has been done to compare the in-hospital outcomes in patients with stress cardiomyopathy and concurrent COVID-19 infection with those without COVID-19 infection. The National Inpatient Sample database for the year 2020 was queried to identify all admissions diagnosed with stress cardiomyopathy. These patients were then stratified based on whether they had concomitant COVID-19 infection or not. A 1:1 propensity score matching was performed. Background: Hepatoblastoma (HB) is the most common primary liver cancer in children with emerging evidence that incidence is increasing globally. While overall survival for low risk hepatoblastoma is >90%, children with metastatic disease have worse survival. As identifying factors associated with high-risk disease is critical for improving outcomes for these children, a need for a further understanding of the epidemiology of hepatoblastoma is warranted. Objective: Prematurity, low birth weight, genetic syndromes, extracardiac conditions, and secondary cardiac lesions are considered high-risk conditions associated with mortality after stage 1 palliation. We report the impact of these conditions on outcomes from a prospective multicenter improvement collaborative.

Methods: The National Pediatric Cardiology Quality Improvement Collaborative Phase II registry was queried. Comorbid conditions were categorized and quantified to determine the cumulative burden of high-risk diagnoses on survival to the first birthday. Logistic regression was applied to evaluate factors associated with mortality.
