ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างความกว้างของฟันหน้าบนกับความกว้างของปีกจมูกและระยะห่างระหว่างหัวตา, สิทธิเดช นิลเจริญ

วัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาว่า ความกว้างของฟันหน้าบนทั้ง 6 ซี่ มีความสัมพันธ์กับความกว้างของปีกจมูกและ ระยะห่างระหว่างหัวตาหรือไม่ เพื่อจะนําผลที่ได้จากการศึกษาไปเป็นแนวทางในการเลือกขนาดฟันหน้าที่เหมาะสมใน การทําฟันเทียม เนื่องจากผลการวิจัยส่วนใหญ่เป็นการศึกษาในคนเชื้อชาติอาหรับและคนผิวขาว ซึ่งโครงสร้างใบหน้ามีความแตกต่างไปจากคนเอเชียค่อนข้างมาก จึงต้องการตรวจสอบว่าจะสามารถนําผลการวิจัยครั้งนี้มาใช้กับประชากรไทยได้หรือไม่ โดยใช้ระเบียบการวิจัยเชิงพรรณนา วัสดุและวิธีการ ดําเนินการเก็บบันทึกข้อมูลจากผู้ป่วยอายุมากกว่า 17 ปีขึ้นไปที่เข้ามารับบริการที่กลุ่มงาน ทันตกรรม โรงพยาบาลกลาง จํานวน 303 คน แยกเป็นชาย 141 คน หญิง 162 คน อายุระหว่าง 18-71 ปี (อายุเฉลี่ย 35.2 + 13 ปี) โดยที่กลุ่มตัวอย่างจะต้องมีฟันหน้าบนอยู่ในสภาพที่สมบูรณ์ครบทั้ง 6 ซี่ ไม่เคยได้รับการรักษาด้วย การจัดฟันมาก่อน ในกรณีที่มีความผิดปกติบนใบหน้าซึ่งเป็นมาแต่กําเนิดหรือได้รับอุบัติเหตุในภายหลัง มีโรค ทางตาหรือได้รับการผ่าตัดบนใบหน้ามาก่อน มีช่องฟันห่าง มีการสึกเหตุบดเคี้ยวจนถึงบริเวณสัมผัส มีรอยผุและ วัสดุอุดฟันด้านประชิดหรือมีการบูรณะด้วยครอบฟันจะถูกคัดออก ทําการเก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้วิธีการวัดระยะห่าง ระหว่างส่วนที่กว้างที่สุดของปีกจมูกแต่ละข้าง ระยะห่างระหว่างจุดบรรจบของหนังตาบนและล่างของหัวตาแต่ละข้างและระยะรวมของส่วนที่กว้างมากที่สุดของฟันหน้าบนแต่ละซี่ตั้งแต่ฟันเขี้ยวบนขวาถึงฟันเขี้ยวบนซ้ายรวม 6 ทําการวัด 3 ครั้งในแต่ละตัวแปร นํามาหาค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน นําค่าเฉลี่ยที่ได้มาทําการวิเคราะห์ และหาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างความกว้างของฟันหน้าบนกับความกว้างของปีกจมูกและระยะห่างระหว่างหัวตา โดยใช้ค่าสัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์เพียร์สัน (Pearson's correlation coefficients) ( A = 0.05) ด้วยโปรแกรม เอสพีเอสเอส สําหรับระบบปฏิบัติการวินโดว์ เวอร์ชั่น 11.5 (SPSS 11.5 for Windows) ผลการศึกษา ค่าเฉลี่ยความกว้างของฟันหน้าบนทั้ง 6 ที่มีค่า 46.86 + 2.49 มม. ค่าเฉลี่ยความกว้างของปีกจมูก มีค่า 41.32 + 3.86 มม. และค่าเฉลี่ยระยะห่างระหว่างหัวตามีค่า 34.81 + 2.78 มม. จากการวิเคราะห์ค่าสัมประสิทธิ์ สหสัมพันธ์เพียร์สันระหว่างค่าเฉลี่ยความกว้างของฟันหน้าบนกับค่าเฉลี่ยความกว้างของปีกจมูกและค่าเฉลี่ยระยะห่างระหว่างหัวตา พบว่า ค่าเฉลี่ยความกว้างของฟันหน้าบนมีความสัมพันธ์กับค่าเฉลี่ยความกว้างของปีกจมูกอย่าง มีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ …

Autism spectrum disorder has become one of the most prevalent developmental disorders and one of the main impairments is difficulty with communication. One method of augmentative and alternative communication is the use of the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) to create messages using a series of images printed on cards and organized in binders. We are developing a digital alternative based on an image library that is displayed on a personal digital assistant (PDA). Professional athletes are often regarded as selfish, greedy, and out-of-touch with regular people. They hire agents who are vilified for negotiating employment contracts that occasionally yield compensation in excess of national gross domestic products. Professional athletes are thus commonly assumed to most value economic remuneration, rather than the love of the game or some other intangible, romanticized inclination.

This Article examines required genetic testing of NBA players from a situational vantage point, integrating socio-psychological, legal, and ethical analyses. The core argument may be expressed as follows: required genetic testing of NBA players appears consistent with a broader and largely deleterious agenda by the NBA to control players. Since implementation of the rookie wage scale in 1995 through the recent imposition of a paternalistic player dress code, the NBA has increasingly usurped player autonomy. This Article examines the role of situational pressures, fundamental attribution errors, and legal frameworks in how professional sports actors respond to the threat and occurrence of calamities. Both natural and manmade threats to American health are likely to rise over the next decade. Such threats may include catastrophic weather, natural disasters, terrorist attacks, and communicable disease pandemics. In response to these threats, professional sports leagues, professional athletes, fans, and media might engage in unprecedented behavior. Discharge plans should include prompts for patients and their families to identify key concerns regarding their ability to undertake practical activities of daily living post-discharge. During a six month series of post-discharge interviews, elderly recently ill patients and their carers identified concerns about managing on leaving the hospital, encompassing transport home from hospital, gaining entry to their home, having appropriate food and effective heating or cooling available immediately post-discharge, obtaining assistance in managing their home and family responsibilities, navigating around their house, accessing their General Medical Practitioner, going shopping, paying bills and regaining social contacts. This Article takes a "critical" approach to the assumptions underlying current practices of violence risk assessment. The Article first explicates a fundamental difference between how mental health researchers now interpret the phrase "violence prediction" and how they understood that phrase in the 1970s. Applying a "critical" approach, the Article then shows that courts and mental health professionals may need to abandon the hope that more accurate methods of predicting violence will help clinicians make better decisions about potential violence. The purpose of this article is to examine the potential of brief intervention (BI) as a modality for translating health behavior intervention research into practice. We discuss common definitions of BI, applications within common models of translation research, effects of BI on a range of health behaviors and across various populations, current and potential mechanisms, and uses for dissemination to practice. A number of advantages of BI suggest they are well suited for translating behavioral research. In addition, findings from 13 systematic reviews of BI effects show their potential versatility. The purpose of this scholarly project is to present a workbook that assists patients with lymphedema and their therapists to develop a home management program that can successfully be integrated into the patient's daily occupations. The workbook utilizes the principles of the Occupational Adaptation theoretical frame of reference to guide the patient through the steps of making an adaptive response to the occupational challenge of lymphedema management. Overproduction of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species leads to oxidative stress and decreased total antioxidant capacity, which is responsible for high mortality from several diseases such as endotoxic shock. Nitric oxide (NO) produced by inducible NO synthase (iNOS) during endotoxemia is the major cause of vascular hyporeactivity, hypotension and multiple organ failure. We investigated whether NO-mediated oxidative stress in rat heart, aorta and mesenteric artery is involved in the attenuation of endotoxin-induced hypotension by inhibition of iNOS. Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) is an inflammatory condition of unknown etiology. The exact role of the leukocytes in the pathogenesis of RAS is not known. The aim of this study was to evaluate the status of the oxidative system in neutophils of RAS patients. A total of 26 patients and 22 sex and age matched healthy control subjects were analyzed by measuring intracellular oxidant/antioxidant enzymes and related parameters; myeloperoxidase (MPO), xanthine oxidase (XO), catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), adenosine deaminase (AD), malondialdehyde (MDA) and nitric oxide (NO).
