วัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาแรงยึดเกาะของฐานฟันปลอมอะคริลิกที่ระดับความคอดต่าง ๆ กันของฟัน และแรงยึดเกาะของตะขอลวดดัด วัสดุและวิธีการ โดยนําฟันกรามน้อยบนที่ 2 และฟันกรามใหญ่บนที่ 1 ฝังลงในแบบจําลองปลาสเตอร์สโตน ทําการพิมพ์ซ้ํา โดยแบ่งออกเป็น 4 กลุ่ม คือ หาแรงยึดเกาะที่ระดับความคอด 0.03 นิ้ว 0.02 นิ้ว 0.01 นิ้วและ ระดับเส้นสํารวจ ส่วนกลุ่มที่ 4 หาแรงยึดเกาะของตะขอลวดดัด ขนาดเส้นผ่าศูนย์กลาง 1 มิลลิเมตร ที่ระดับความ คอด 0.02 นิ้ว ของฟันกรามใหญ่ชี้ที่ 1 ทดสอบหาค่าแรงยึดเกาะโดยใช้ เครื่องลอยด์ยูนิเวอร์ซัลเทสติ้ง รุ่น แอลอาร์ 10 เค (Lloyd Universal Testing Machine Model LR 10 K) ผลการทดลองและสรุป เมื่อวิเคราะห์ค่าแรงยึดเกาะทางสถิติโดยวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนทางเดียวที่ระดับความ เชื่อมั่น 0.05 และวิธีดันแคนนิวมัลติเพิลเรนจ์ ที่ระดับความเชื่อมั่น 0.05 พบว่าในฟันซี่เดียวกันแรงยึดเกาะที่ระดับความคอดต่าง ๆ กันจะมีความแตกต่างอย่างมีนัยสําคัญ โดยที่ระดับความคอด 0.03 นิ้ว ให้แรงยึดเกาะสูงสุดรองลง มาคือที่ระดับส่วนคอด 0.02 นิ้ว 0.01 นิ้วและที่เส้นสํารวจตามลําดับ และที่ระดับความคอดเดียวกันในฟันต่าง ๆ กัน แรงยึดเกาะมีความแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสําคัญ โดยฐานฟันปลอมที่ครอบคลุมทั้งฟันกรามน้อยซี่ที่ 2 และฟันกรามใหญ่ ที่ 1 ให้แรงยึดเกาะสูงสุด รองลงมาคือฐานฟันปลอมที่ครอบคลุมฟันกรามใหญ่ที่ 1 และฐานฟันปลอมที่ครอบคลุม ฟันกรามน้อยที่ 2 ตามลําดับ ส่วนที่ระดับเส้นสํารวจไม่มีความแตกต่างอย่างมีนัยสําคัญในฟันกรามน้อยที่ 2 และ ฟันกรามใหญ่ที่ 1 แต่มีความแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสําคัญในกลุ่มที่ครอบคลุมฟันทั้ง 2 ซี่ ส่วนกลุ่มตะขอลวดดัด ให้แรงยึดเกาะของฐานฟันปลอมน้อยกว่าแรงยึดเกาะของฐานฟันปลอมที่ได้จากระดับความคอด 0.03 นิ้ว 0.02 นิ้ว และ …

วัตถุประสงค์ การศึกษานี้ต้องการศึกษาถึงคุณภาพชีวิตของนิสิตทันตแพทย์จุฬาฯ และปัจจัยต่าง ๆ ที่มีผลต่อความวิตกกังวลและเครียดระหว่างที่ศึกษาเล่าเรียน วัสดุและวิธีการ ใช้แบบสอบถามซึ่งประกอบด้วยคําถามยี่สิบข้อที่สร้างขึ้นและนําไปทดสอบแล้วส่งให้นิสิตทันตแพทย์ จุฬาฯ จํานวน 497 คน ตอบ สาระของคําถามจะประกอบด้วยคําถามทางด้านประชากรศาสตร์ คําถามเกี่ยวกับ ระดับอารมณ์ความเครียดและกังวลใจและสภาวะของสุขภาพ สาเหตุที่ทําให้นิสิตมีอารมณ์เครียดวิตกกังวล ผลการศึกษา คุณภาพชีวิตของนิสิตทันตแพทย์อยู่ในเกณฑ์ที่ไม่ค่อยมีความสุข 62.9 เปอร์เซ็นต์มีอารมณ์ที่ เบื่อหน่ายการเรียนและการฝึกปฏิบัติงานในคลินิกและแลบ 64.2 เปอร์เซ็นต์มีความวิตกกังวล ยิ่งศึกษาในชั้นปีที่สูง ขึ้นความวิตกกังวลมีมากขึ้น สาเหตุของความวิตกกังวลและเครียดของนิสิตมาจาก 1) การเรียนที่หนักและขาดเวลา พักผ่อน 2) บรรยากาศการเข้าหาอาจารย์และท่าทีที่แสดงออกของอาจารย์ 3) ปริมาณงานที่ได้รับและต้องทําให้ ครบเกณฑ์ 4) การสอบและเกรด นิสิตที่เรียนและเล่นกีฬาจะมีอารมณ์เครียดน้อยกว่านิสิตที่เรียนอย่างเดียวโดยไม่เล่นกีฬา (P=0.000)สรุป นิสิตทันตแพทย์มีความเครียดและวิตกกังวลค่อนข้างมาก กว่าครึ่งหนึ่งของนิสิตมีความรู้สึกที่เบื่อหน่ายการเรียน ฉะนั้นการจัดการเรียนการสอนควรจะต้องมีการวางแผนและบริหารจัดการให้ดี ควรมีการจัดการเรื่องการให้คําปรึกษา ช่วยเหลือนิสิตในยามที่มีปัญหาด้านการเรียนทฤษฎีและปฏิบัติ

Procedures for the selection of subjects for participation in randomized clinical trials--usually formalized as eligibility criteria in the study protocol--have both scientific and ethical implications. In this thesis, I undertake an examination of eligibility criteria at three stages in the genesis and dissemination of medical knowledge: clinical trial protocol, interpretation by investigators, and reporting of study results.

A purposive, convenience sample of twenty-one educators volunteered to participate in the study. Data were primarily obtained through semi-structured interviews over a period of six months. Serum pepsinogen, ui-antitrypsin (ui-AT) and blood groups were studied as genetic markets in 32 patients with endoscopically proven duodenal ulcer and 44 control subjects with no family history of ulcer disease. Serum pepsinogen was detennined by the modified method of Edward et al7, a1-AT by single radial hnmunodiffusion8 (RID) and phenotyping was carried out by isoelectric focusing (IEF)9. Duodenal ulcer patients with hyper- pepsinogenemia (28%) and low serum ui-AT (35%) had a dominant blood group 0, lower mean age, an early onset of disease, a higher frequency of gastrointestinal (CI) bleeding and ulcer perforation. A 56-year-old farmer was killed when the tricycle tractor he was operating on a hillside overturned. He had been going up and down the hill to bring loads of dirt in the tractor's front-end loader in order to bury a calf. The hillside was relatively steep, and the ground was wet from recent rains. As he attempted to turn with the loader filled and raised, the tractor rolled over several times, crushing the victim. He died at the scene. A 32-year-old laborer (the victim) at a sawmill died as a result of injuries received when he lost his balance and fell onto the log carriage directly in front of the 56-inch circular saw. He had been using a cane hook to turn the logs for repeated passes through the saw. This research was extremely timely because (a) Southern California leads the nation in managed care market penetration, (b) changes in health care financing have resulted in a prolific expansion of nurse executive responsibilities, and (c) nurse executive experiences regarding increased responsibilities have not been researched. Shared governance has been proposed as an organizational model that provides staff nurses with both the structure and the mechanism for having increased decision-making authority. The purpose of this study was to explore the sociocultural factors which play a role in the process of ending an abusive relationship among Latinas. Dimensional analysis was the method employed for the development of a grounded theory. Aguantando or enduring emerged from this study as pivotal in gaining an understanding of the process of ending an abusive relationship for Latinas. Participants indicated that personal and religious beliefs, the importance of family, and the needs of their children were reasons for aguantando or enduring the abuse. The purpose of this investigation was to study the experience of individuals who live with and manage HIV infection and AIDS. The context of living with HIV/AIDS, the prevailing conditions, the actions/strategies used, and the consequences of the actions were considered using grounded theory methodology and dimensional analysis. A purposeful sample of 21 individuals HIV positive or diagnosed with AIDS from San Diego, California and Tijuana, Mexico were interviewed using semi-structured questions. Using grounded theory, a semi-structured in-depth interview was conducted to explore the experiences of Taiwanese women who were caregivers for their parents-in-law. Thirty-one Taiwanese women aged 23 to 58 participated in this study. Just Doing was identified as the core category to indicate the caregivers' striving process once they committed to their in-laws' care. Recognizing Duty, Experiencing Trials, and Responding to Caregiving were subcategories and reflected how a caregiver perceived her role, how she was affected by caregiving tasks, and what responses she had to the caregiving situation. The purpose of this qualitative study was to generate theory about women's perimenopausal life experiences. Thirty-five Taiwanese women aged 40 to 59 who perceived themselves as perimenopausal and who were not using hormone therapy were interviewed. Data were generated from interviews which were conducted in Mandarin. Living with Changing Health was the core category for describing and guiding the process of perimenopause. During this process, Awareness was identified as the antecedent condition. Once the woman became aware, she would begin the process of living with her changing health. Viable tissue sections and isolated cell cultures from the human fallopian tube, uterus, cervix, and vaginal mucosa were examined for susceptibility to infection with human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1). We examined infectivity by using the monocytotropic strain HIV-1_JR-FLand several primary isolates of HIV-1 obtained from infected neonates. HIV-1 infection was measured by p24 production in short-term culture and by immunofluorescence detection of HIV-1 Nef and p24 proteins by laser scanning confocal microscopy. Three-color immunofluorescence was used to phenotype HIV-infected cells within tissue sections from each site. Our findings indicate that epithelial, stromal, and dendritic cells and cells …

Depression afflicts 20% to 40% of people 65 and older. Depression in older adults is frequent and chronic. The challenge of a hospital stay and the knowledge of having a long term disability may increase the risk for a depressive episode. In today's health care environment older adults are being released from hospitals after a short length of stay and are frequently dependent on home health services for assistance with activities of daily living.
