Introduction: Nearly 742 million cases of COVID have been detected since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and over 6 million people have lost their lives due to COVID or a COVID related illness. While Arizona’s COVID-19 emergency declaration ended on March 30, 2022, there are still nearly 100,000 new cases each week as of September 2023. Nirmatrelvir-ritonavir (Paxlovid) is an outpatient antiviral medication recommended for adults with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 who have elevated risk of severe illness.

Background: After reviewing my 10-day Practice Assessment Log (PAL) and documenting a clinical needs assessment of my practice, I documented, reviewed, and reflected upon my findings. In my current practice we address low back pain with Gabapentin 300mg TID and Methocarbamol 500mg BID. The present outcome is that most patients do not experience much in relief.

It is important to know that the etiology of sore throat in 70%-95% of cases is viral. Streptococcus pyogenes (group A streptococcus) is detected in approximately 15%-30% of all cases with sore throat, 5%-15% in adults, while 20%-30% in children. Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) remains the fifth leading cause of disease-related deaths worldwide, resulting in an annual cost of $3.5 billion in the United States due to COPD exacerbations. COPD treatment necessitates a multifaceted approach that includes collecting complex, subjective, and objective patient information. A ten-day patient assessment log was completed in an outpatient pulmonary clinic to evaluate any shortcomings in the current practice, revealing that the current evaluation of breathlessness involved gathering subjective reporting with binary yes/no responses, leading to variability in diagnosis and treatment.

Background/Problem Statement: The significantly elevated rates of cardiovascular (CV) disease observed among individuals with mental health conditions might stem from suboptimal handling of cardiovascular risk factors. In this project, I sought to address one aspect of cardiovascular risk: hypertension in patients 18-74 years of age, marked with a blood pressure >140/90 mmHg in a psychiatric inpatient setting. A tenday review of patient care revealed that hypertension management provided to patients under our service was inadequate and might be improved by adopting and implementing more consistent and systematic protocols for medication administration.

Purpose/Hypothesis: The purpose of this study was to assess the interrater reliability between five second-year physical therapy students on the scoring of the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) on 45 participants via pre-recorded videos. To our knowledge, few studies have been completed regarding interrater reliability on the FMS with the new criteria on the ankle mobility clearing test and updated criteria on the rotary stability test.

This study aimed to assess a method of measuring navicular drop during dynamic walking trials. Our technique used a two-stage assessment of navicular drop; these stages consisted of an initial static examination of the navicular position in subtalar neutral, combined with a dynamic evaluation of navicular drop during walking gait. Emerging evidence suggests a significant contribution of primary cilia to cell division and proliferation mechanisms. MicroRNAs, especially miR-17, contribute to cell cycle regulation and proliferation. Recent investigations have highlighted the dysregulated expression of miR-17 in various malignancies, underlining its potential role in cancer. However, the correlation between primary cilia and miR-17 has yet to be fully elucidated. The present study examines the presence of miR-17 in primary cilia. Introduction. The United States has 63.7 million Hispanic/Latino individuals, and approximately 40% of Spanish speakers have limited English proficiency (LEP). Patient-provider language discordance is a major contributor towards health disparities. Hence, many health professions educators offer clinically-relevant Spanish. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is characterized by thickening and stiffness around the air sacs. Approved treatments like nintedanib and pirfenidone slow disease progression in IPF and often have tolerability issues. More research is needed to fully grasp the mechanisms behind abnormal cytoskeletal changes in lung cells, notably fibroblasts and epithelial cells, and their role in fibrosis progression. Previous studies suggest that myocardin expression and function, traditionally limited to smooth/cardiac development in physiology, become active in pathophysiological conditions like pleural fibrosis. This paper provides a survey of various research articles on context-aware asynchronous pronunciation training applications. First, a set of seven articles is reviewed and summarized. Next, they are synthesized over the three main topics of 1) automated speech recognition, 2) non-native speaker considerations in language learning, and 3) future directions for research and development within computer-assisted pronunciation training (CAPT). Introduction: In our study, we evaluated the application of ChatGPT4, an artificial intelligence chatbot, in the pharmacy field, specifically the capability of ChatGPT4 to extract and analyze FDA drug information, conduct a cost-effectiveness analysis of two antibiotics, and identify and classify adverse drugs events (ADE). We compare the results of ChatGPT4 with those from manual searches and specialized software programs. This non-experimental study utilized a convenience sample (N = 322) to investigate graduate students in physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), and speech-language pathology’ s (SLP) knowledge of the connection between Down syndrome and dementia of the Alzheimer's type (DAT). Ninety-two-point-five percent of participants were female, and 79.80% were white. Swallowing is an intricate process involving over 50 muscle pairs and numerous nerves, with dysphagia resulting from deficits in various stages (Hennessy & Goldenberg, 2016). Lingual restriction may adversely impact swallowing function, affecting bolus preparation, size, and overall efficiency. Tongue-tie can pose challenges to speech, chewing, and swallowing (Becker & Mendez, 2022; Chaubal et al, 2011; García-Pola, M. J., et al., 2002).
