Nursing education is heteronormative and cis-normative, which has been correlated to stigma and ignorance exhibited by nurses towards sexual and/or gender minorities (SGM). Minority Stress Theory (MST) states that circumstances in the environment that promote stigma related to minority identities lead to unique minority stressors, such as discrimination. These minority stressors subsequently affect mental health. Stocker cattle purchased at auction can be susceptible to disease due to the stressors associated with the auction process. These cattle are labeled “high-risk” due to their compromised immune system during transportation, handling, and vaccination processes. The objective of this study was to determine the efficacy of a maternal bovine appeasing substance, FerAppease, on growth performance and behavior of stocker cattle. Male beef calves (n=80) were purchased at auction and transported to the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Savoy Research Complex Beef Stocker Unit. Humans and microorganisms are intricately interconnected, with microbes constituting an essential component of human biology and ecology. This interdependence necessitates a delicate balance between leveraging beneficial microbes and mitigating the impact of harmful ones. The human gut microbiome, home to trillions of microorganisms, predominantly comprises commensal species that support health. However, dysbiosis within this ecosystem has been linked to serious diseases. For instance, an overrepresentation of Bacteroides species is associated with Type I diabetes mellitus (T1D) and various chronic gut disorders, including ulcerative colitis, inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, and colorectal cancer. Precision medicine in oncology is defined by the sequencing of tumor genomic variants that can be used to identify targeted treatment for patients. Secondary pathogenic and likely pathogenic germline variants (P/LPGVs) can incidentally be detected on tumor genomic profiling (TGP). With the rise in precision medicine over the past 15 years, secondary P/LPGVs on TGP have been an increasingly important clinical issue. The estimated prevalence of adults, age 18 and older, with serious mental illness (SMI) in the United States is approximately 6% (NIMH, 2022a). Having a mental illness places individuals at higher risk for arrest and incarceration (NAMI, n.d.b) where they receive treatment, including recreational therapy (RT) in state hospitals, jails or prisons. The purpose of this multi-method study was to gain a better understanding of the role of RT in treating adults with SMI in forensic and correctional settings. This quality improvement project intended to identify populations of adult intimate partner violence (IPV) survivors in Spokane County, Washington, by race/ethnicity and sex who are underserved by a local victim service agency and provide action-oriented, evidence-informed recommendations that the agency may utilize to increase engagement with these local underserved populations. Methods used include secondary data analysis, timeline creation, literature review, and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data analysis. To identify and evaluate potential risk factors for OSSN at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka, Zambia.

Data from 475 patients were analyzed retrospectively, and it included 390 with OSSN and 85 with benign biopsies. Variables with significance values

Objective: Assess the independent role of diabetes on hypertension using logistic regression, while adjusting for covariates such as age, sex, BMI

Methods: A subset of data from the Framingham Cohort study, with 5,209 participants and collected across three periods from 1956 to 1968, was analyzed. The dataset includes laboratory, clinic, questionnaire, and event data from 4,434 individuals and was analyzed using SAS software for logistic regression.

Results:In the adjusted model, diabetes was not associated with hypertension (aOR:1.1, 95% CI:0.67-1.81, p=0.7). Females had 26% higher odds of hypertension than males (aOR=1.26, 95%CI:1.09-1.25, p=0.00). Participants aged 51 or older (aOR=2.86, 95%CI:2.37-2.47, …

Objectives: To investigate the association between diabetes and hypertension over 24 years using the Framingham Heart Study in women 40 or older.

Methods: The study utilized a subset of data from the Framingham Study (initiated in 1948), a longitudinal prospective cohort study, which followed participants for 24 years. The exposure was diabetes, while hypertension was the outcome. Women aged 40 years or older who had no missing data on diabetes or hypertension were included (N=2,187).
