Familiarity With Health Principles And Community Engagement: A Dietary Perspective, Jimmy Adil Jr, Carthy Joy Aguillon, Ray Opao, Susa Opao, Arceli Rosario

Familiarity with the Adventist Health Message relates differently to outreach involvement depending on diet. Among the 5,849 participants, pescatarians and vegetarians showed a stronger positive link between health message awareness and willingness to increase outreach engagement, while vegans and meat-eaters showed no significant effect, suggesting diet may shape health-belief-driven outreach.

This study explored nursing practice in Liberia using the integrated global framework for nursing education and practice. A descriptive Qualitative method was used through a group interview and purposive sampling technique for participant selection. FGD utilized for data collection and theoretical sampling for data saturation. Findings highlighted for improvement at the researched hospital and other SDA health care settings.

Adults under the age of 70 in Sub-Saharan Africa face a higher probability of death from non-communicable diseases than adults of the same age in the Established Market Economies. A team from Andrews university in collaboration with the health unit of the Northeast Tanzania Conference (NETC), collaboratively conducted a community needs assessment and on lifestyle diseases in Kihurio village in December 2017 and found that over half of the attendee had hypertension. Background: Phosphatase-substrate interactions may serve as biomarkers for diseases, offering crucial insights to support early diagnosis. Analyzing these substrate-specific interactions is also crucial in recommending different drugs. In our research, we constructed a knowledge graph that provides a comprehensive network representation, capturing diverse relationships among biological entities relevant to phosphatases.

Methods: Our knowledge graph represents 5 unique nodes- kinase, phosphatase, substrate, drug, and disease. The connections between the nodes are obtained from DrugMap (drug and their target proteins; disease and their associated proteins), STRING protein-protein interaction, DEPOD 2019 (phosphatase and their substrate), PhosphoSitePLUS (kinases and their substrate), and UniProt. The aim of the current study was to determine the prevalence of Multidrug Resistant Organisms (MDRO) colonisation on a surgical ward of an acute tertiary hospital. MDRO determination was conducted on a patient-occupied surgical ward over a 6-month period. The screen included sink, and shower drains in bathrooms and sinks of multi-bedded and single-occupied rooms. Swabs were cultured on chromogenic agar to enable detection of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Carbapenemase producing enterobacterales (CPE), Vancomycin Resistant Enterococci (VRE) and Extended spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL). Abstract

Aim

To calculate the performance characteristics of the Clearview^® IM II Monospot [heterophile antibody (HA) test] to determine Infectious Mononucleosis associated with Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV-IM) in clinically suspect patients.

Methods

The laboratory results of 420 patients tested for HAs over a two-year period (2018-2019) in a single testing centre in Ireland were analysed. A novel multivariant test (reference) model was designed to determine true positive and negative EBV-IM cases. A cohort of 50 Monospot results were compared against this reference model and the test’s performance characteristics determined.

The Geriatric Interprofessional Education Immersion (GIPEI) course was developed using a mixed methods design guided by the Knowledge-to-Action (KTA) Framework and embedded data-driven decision-making (DDDM). The eight-week, tri-weekly immersion integrates Experiential and Adult Learning Theories, the 4Ms Framework, IPEC competencies, and TeamSTEPPS to foster age-friendly clinical decision-making. Quantitative and qualitative data, including pre/post-tests, rubrics, observations, and student interviews, inform iterative improvement. The somato-psycho-socio-semiotic model of health further anchors student reflection and care planning. Findings aim to demonstrate improved learner ability to recognize and apply age-friendly care, while supporting evidence-informed curriculum refinement. The Guided Board Prep Initiative was created to synthesize all the board preparation resources and provide more organized guidance for students we identified in MS1 who would struggle to pass COMLEX Level 1. Among at-risk students between 2023/4-2024/5 cohorts (N=169), the cohort of 2024/25 had significantly higher COMLEX Level 1 pass rate than 2023/24 cohort (chi-square 4.8, p-0.03)
