However, the role of SCS in preschool-aged children hospitalized with viral respiratory tract infection (vRTI), including viral induced wheezing, remains uncertain. Purpose/Objective: Lacerations requiring closure make up 8 million emergency department (ED) visits annually. Irrigating prior to closure with potable tap water decreases cost and waste without increasing rates of infection compared to sterile fluids. Currently, only 3.5% of lacerations closed in our ED are irrigated with tap water. This project aims to increase the percent age of lacerations closed by ED providers irrigated with tap water from 3.5% to 60% by March 2026 in a freestanding pediatric emergency department across two sites (ED 1, ED 2). Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly used in radiology to improve diagnostic accuracy and workflow efficiency; however, there is limited standardized research comparing its performance across imaging modalities. This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy and efficiency of AI in X-ray, computed tomography (CT), and nuclear medicine. A systematic review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines, analyzing peer-reviewed studies published between 2015 and 2025. Data were extracted on key performance metrics, including sensitivity, specificity, interpretation time, and error rates, to enable cross-modality comparison. Breast implants can limit the effectiveness of traditional imaging methods like mammography and ultrasound by obscuring underlying tissue and masking abnormalities. This literature review highlights findings from six studies demonstrating that magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) provides superior accuracy in both cancer detection and implant evaluation. MRI consistently shows higher sensitivity and specificity, effectively identifying tumors, assessing their size and spread, and detecting implant ruptures with strong agreement to surgical outcomes. It also enables long-term monitoring by revealing silent complications and improving screening compliance in post-reconstruction patients. Adolescents’ contact with police is a complex outcome that is influenced by both individual behavior and the broader social context. Specifically, while delinquent behavior can lead to more police contact (Crutchfield et al., 2012), hyper-surveillance often occurs in marginalized communities, increasing unjustified police contact for youth of color (Campos-Manzo et al., 2020; Geller, 2021). Indeed, racial disparities in police contact during adolescence persist even after accounting for delinquent behavior (Campos-Manzo et al., 2020; Crutchfield et al., 2012). Background Complicated community-acquired pneumonia (cCAP)—defined by effusion, empyema, abscess, cavitation, or necrosis—is associated with worse outcomes than uncomplicated pneumonia. Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) data in cCAP are limited and often merged with uncomplicated cases. As survival into adulthood for children with medical complexity increases, children’s hospitals will likely admit adults with HINI. The lower limb prosthesis is an important assistive technology for persons with limb amputations and differences. The interface (prosthetic liner) between the rigid prosthetic socket and the residual limb is often made of silicone, urethane or thermoplastic elastomer gel. This material provides cushioning and support as well as suspension for the transtibial (below knee) prosthetic leg. Unfortunately the cost of liners range from $3-$600. Mycoplasma pneumoniae CARDS toxin induces cytotoxicity and inflammation in lung epithelial cells²·¹⁰·¹¹, while hyperglycemia independently elevates ROS and disrupts fibroblast repair¹·⁵·⁸, contributing to the heightened respiratory infection severity seen in diabetic patients¹. However, the interaction between hyperglycemic conditions and CARDS toxin-induced lung injury remains unexplored.

This study investigates how increasing high-glucose (HG) pre-conditioning modifies CARDS toxin-induced injury and recovery in A549⁶ and IMR-90⁷ cells compared to normal glucose (NG ≈ 5mM) controls.
