Background/aim: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a major health problem worldwide. Cinnamic acid (CA) and its derivatives are synthesized in plants and increasing attention has been given to them in recent years due to the high number of beneficial health properties attributed to their consumption. Background/aim: The clinical effect of angiostatin in diabetes mellitus (DM) patients receiving insulin is a meaningful gap in the literature. In this study, we aimed to show the levels and the clinical significance of angiostatin in DM patients receiving insulin. Materials and methods: This is a case-control study. Serum angiostatin levels were determined by ELISA. A total of 83 people consisting of healthy subjects (n = 36) and patients with a diagnosis of DM receiving insulin therapy (n = 47) were included in this study.
