Background/aim: This study aimed to investigate the effects of two different medical treatment options on choroidal thickness (CT) in patients with primary hypertension. Materials and methods: Forty newly diagnosed primary hypertension patients and 21 healthy volunteers were included. The patients were randomly divided into two subgroups. Background/aim: Spontaneous wheals and/or angioedema lasting longer than six weeks are described as chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU). Omalizumab is used for the treatment of antihistamine-resistant CSU. The neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet- lymphocyte ratio (PLR), mean platelet volume (MPV), and platelet distribution width (PDW) are considered important indicators of inflammation and platelet activation in chronic diseases. Background/aim: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of salbutamol inhaler treatment in an experimentally induced model of pulmonary contusion. Materials and methods: Thirty-two male Wistar albino rats were randomly divided into four groups: the control group (CG), sham group (SG), treatment group 1 (TG1), and treatment group 2 (TG2). Experimental contusion was established by targeting the right lung tissue. After 72 h, histopathological evaluation for the severity of edema, hemorrhage, and leukocyte infiltration was performed in both sides of the lungs. We aimed to produce preeclampsia-like syndrome by suramin administration in rats and to investigate the functional responses in aortic, renal, and uterine arteries. In this study, using high-resolution melting analysis (HRMA), we aim to identify the active types of leishmaniasis, which are inadequately identified by classical methods.
