Depression represents a significant public health concern that often remains undiagnosed or untreated, primarily due to insufficient systematic screening in primary care settings. The lack of standardized screening tools such as the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) elevates patient risks, increasing symptom severity, increasing suicide rates, and delaying interventions. Research studies show that a significant number of individuals with depression go untreated for long durations, with primary care settings recognizing only a small percentage of cases. Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a significant health concern in the United States, ranking third in incidence and mortality among all cancers. Despite established screening guidelines, adherence often falls short in primary care settings. This quality improvement project aimed to enhance CRC screening rates in a Midwest primary care practice through implementation of a standardized screening protocol. The intervention was two-fold and consisted of the routine ordering of fecal immunochemical test (FIT) kits to eligible patients and the use of electronic health record (EHR)-based patient reminders. PURPOSE The purpose of this project was to improve early Oral Immune Therapy (OIT) initiation by implementing a nursing intervention bundle for infants weighing less than 1500 grams at birth.

BACKGROUND Premature infants face nutritional challenges due to immature digestive systems and delayed oral feeding. Unplanned pregnancies are a significant public health problem in the United States. Timely access to reliable contraception can decrease the incidence of unplanned pregnancies and their detrimental health impacts. This evidence-based practice project aimed to improve access to subdermal implantable long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARCs) in the primary care setting by implementing a technology platform that enables in-office stocking of LARC devices, allowing for same-day access to LARC options. Data were collected over a 12-week period before and after implementation. Abstract: Background/Objectives: Healthcare professionals are critical to community well-being, but the 12-versus 8-hour shifts on their stress and burnout are unclear. This study examines the effects of work patterns on the quality of life, job satisfaction, and burnout among allied healthcare professionals. Method: a validated questionnaire was used. A descriptive analysis, independent samples t-test and Mann–Whitney U test were used, and the significance level was p < 0.05. Results: Among the 340 participants, the mean age was 28 years, and most were women (63.5%), single (58%), and worked 8-hour shifts (54.4%). The current rise in Type 2 diabetes among middle-aged individuals poses significant risks of health complications such as kidney damage, heart disease, stroke, nerve damage, vision loss, and skin problems. Research has shown that proper education on the causes and risk factors of Type 2 diabetes would increase people’s knowledge about the medical problem, helping promote positive health outcomes. According to the International Diabetes Federation, Diabetes Mellitus (DM) affects approximately 537 million people, representing approximately 10% of the worldwide population aged 20 to 79. Approximately 400,000 people with DM use continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII) pumps. CSII pump therapy mimics pancreatic insulin release, aiding in maintaining adequate insulin levels. Individuals with DM are more likely to require surgery than individuals without the disease.
