Mucoepidermoid carcinoma โดยทั่วไปมักจะพบใน Major salivary gland และส่วนน้อยจะพบใน minor salivary gland ในรายงานเรื่องนี้ได้บรรยายถึงผู้ป่วย รายหนึ่งซึ่งมาด้วยอาการมีก้อนเนื้อนูนขึ้นที่บริเวณ retromolar area ของขากรรไกรล่างซ้ายและเจ็บ ซึ่งผลของการศึกษาจากภาพถ่ายรังสีและการตรวจทางจุลพยาธิวิทยาพบว่าเป็น Mucoepidermoid carcinoma

การซ่อมฟันปลอมที่แตกหัก ถ้าทําด้วยอะคริลิค เรซิน ชนิดแข็งตัวที่อุณหภูมิปกติ จะลดการบิดงอของฟันปลอมนั้น เพราะไม่ต้องต้มฟันปลอมอีก ทั้งจะทําให้การสบฟันเหมือนเดิมไม่สูงขึ้นอันเกิดจากการบิดงอ การซ่อมฟันปลอมที่แตกหักควรตัดแต่งบริเวณหักให้กว้างมากที่สุดเท่าที่จะมากได้ และทําหน้าที่ตัดให้กว้างมากขึ้น เพื่อได้แนวกว้าง จะได้ยึดกันแน่นดี แต่ข้อสําคัญที่สุด ขอบ ๆ ควรมน เพื่อป้องกันแรงเค้นที่อาจเกิดขณะวัสดุแข็งตัว วิธีการซ่อมง่ายและได้อธิบายอย่างละเอียดโดย รูปภาพ และประหยัดเวลามาก

เมื่อพุทธศักราช 2483 อันเป็นปีที่มีการจัดตั้งแผนกทันตแพทยศาสตร์ ขึ้นเป็นแผนกอิสระในจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยนั้น ยังไม่มีการแบ่งแยกเป็นภาควิชา ศัลยศาสตร์ ภาควิชานี้ได้รับการจัดตั้งขึ้นเป็นแผนกวิชาหนึ่งในคณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์ เมื่อ พุทธศักราช 2486 ซึ่งเป็นปีที่ได้โอนคณะทันตแพทยศาสตร์เข้าร่วมอยู่ในมหาวิทยาลัยแพทยศาสตร์ เมื่อแรกเริ่มนั้น ผู้ทําหน้าที่เป็นหัวหน้าแผนก คือ นายแพทย์ บัณเย็น ทวีพัฒน์ และนับแต่นั้นมาจนถึงปัจจุบันได้มีผู้ทําหน้าที่หัวหน้าแผนกสืบต่อกันมาอีก 5 ท่าน ได้แก่ นายแพทย์เล็ก ณ นคร นายแพทย์สมาน สมานะวณิชย์ ศาสตราจารย์พันโท สี สิริสิงห ศาสตราจารย์ทันตแพทย์บุญทรง สิงหทัต และรองศาสตราจารย์ทันตแพทย์เชื้อโชติ หังสสูต

ตะกั่วเป็นธาตุที่ไม่มีคุณค่าทางอาหาร และยังเกิดเป็นพิษต่อร่างกายได้ ถ้าถูกสะสมอยู่ในร่างกายปริมาณสูง ๆ ในปัจจุบันมีการนําเอาสารตะกั่วมาใช้อย่างกว้างขวาง ทั้งในรูปของสารตะกั่วโดยตรง และที่แปรรูปแล้ว จึงได้มีรายงานเกี่ยวกับพิษของสารตะกั่วต่อชุมชนเสมอ ๆ บทความนี้มุ่งที่จะกระตุ้นเตือนให้เห็นถึงภยันตรายจากพิษของสารตะกั่วที่มีแนวโน้ม จะเกิดขึ้นได้มากในชุมชนใหญ่ ๆ ของ ประเทศไทยอันเนื่องจากมีองค์ประกอบที่ส่งเสริมหลายชนิด ทั้งการนํามาใช้โดย ปราศจากการควบคุมอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ การดูดซึม การกระจาย และการขับถ่าย จากร่างกายตลอดจนถึงความเกี่ยวข้องของสารตะกั่วในด้านวงการทันตแพทย์ด้วย

รายงานการศึกษาประวัติส่วนตัวของทันตแพทย์เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของ การศึกษาเรื่องสุขภาพของทันตแพทย์ โดยการใช้แบบสอบถามส่งไปทางไปรษณีย์ ซึ่งได้รับตอบกลับมา 41.21 % หรือ 333 ฉบับ จากการสํารวจพบว่า ทันตแพทย์ 333 คน แบ่งเป็นชาย 114 คน และหญิง 219 คน ส่วนใหญ่มีอายุเฉลี่ยอยู่ใน ระหว่าง 35-44 ปี เป็นทันตแพทย์ที่สมรสแล้วมากกว่าโสด อาชีพของคู่สมรส ส่วนใหญ่คือรับราชการ ทันตแพทย์ที่สมรสแล้วส่วนใหญ่มีบุตรเฉลี่ยครอบครัวละ 2 คน เป็นบุตรชายมากกว่าบุตรหญิง ทันตแพทย์ส่วนใหญ่จบการศึกษาภายในประเทศ

Regulation Of Cartilage Acid Hydrolases And Their Relationship To Skeletal Growth, John Richard Hubbard

Theses and Dissertations

The in vivo regulation of several acid hydrolases by growth hormone was investigated in an attempt to lend insight into the mechanism of growth hormone action. In addition, the relationship of these enzymes to age-dependent changes in skeletal growth rate was examined. Initial studies showed that hypophysectomy reduced the activity of an unknown cartilage protease, which was assayed by digestion of gelatin-membrane substrates at pH 4.0. Treatment of hypophysectomized rats with growth hormone enhanced this activity to about normal levels.
