Historical Common Names Of Great Plains Plants, With Scientific Names Index. Volume Ii: Scientific Names Index, Elaine Nowick
Historical Common Names Of Great Plains Plants, With Scientific Names Index. Volume Ii: Scientific Names Index, Elaine Nowick
Zea E-Books Collection
Containing thousands of entries of both vernacular and scientific names of Great Plains plants, the literature that informs this exhaustive listing spans nearly 300 years. Author Elaine Nowick has drawn from sources as diverse as Linnaeus, Lewis and Clark, and local university extension publications to compile the gamut of practical, and often fanciful, common plant names used over the years. Each common name is accompanied by a definitive scientific name with references and authority information. Interspersed with scientifically-correct botanical line drawings, the entries are written in standard ICBN format, making this a useful volume for scholars as well as lay …

Dose Responses Of Silvery-Thread Moss To Carfentrazone-Ethyl, Z. Raudenbush, S. Keeley, M. Jugulam
Dose Responses Of Silvery-Thread Moss To Carfentrazone-Ethyl, Z. Raudenbush, S. Keeley, M. Jugulam
Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station Research Reports
As compared with label recommendations, this research suggests that lower carfentrazone-ethyl rates and longer intervals may be effective for silvery- thread moss (STM;Bryum argenteumHedw.) control in putting greens.
Crabgrass Control In Spring Seeding Using Early And Late Combinations Of Prodiamine And Dithiopyr, J. Hoyle, J. Reeves
Crabgrass Control In Spring Seeding Using Early And Late Combinations Of Prodiamine And Dithiopyr, J. Hoyle, J. Reeves
Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station Research Reports
With less crabgrass pressure, the Kansas site showed an inhibitory effect of pre-emergent herbicides on spring tall fescue (Lolium arundinaceum) seeding and establishment. However, at the Nebraska site, greater crabgrass pressure showed a benefit of pre-emergent herbicide use in new spring seeding of tall fescue.
Late-Season Bermudagrass Control With Glyphosate, Fluazifop, And Mesotrione Combinations, J. Reeves, J. Hoyle, C. Thompson
Late-Season Bermudagrass Control With Glyphosate, Fluazifop, And Mesotrione Combinations, J. Reeves, J. Hoyle, C. Thompson
Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station Research Reports
All herbicide treatments at the Rocky Ford Research Center (RF) resulted in unacceptable control, as all plots resulted in 100% green bermudagrass cover by August 25, 2014. Any herbicide treatment combination that included glyphosate provided moderate or better control at Stagg Hill Golf Course (SH). Treatments not containing glyphosate showed no control throughout research trial.

Theses and Dissertations
Using plants as a basis for exploring the interstices between the human and nonhuman, this thesis investigates ideas of awareness, intelligence, deep time, animism, and the fluctuating human perception of the agency of Nature. It outlines environmental art practices since the 1950s involving vegetal life. In addition, the paper provides a critical analysis of plant perception of Jakob von Uexküll’s work and theories of vital materialism and “critical plant studies” while noting recent studies in plant neurobiology. In my work, plants become active participants via their movement, seeding, and smell. This study takes the form of imitation, purposeful symbiosis, anthropomorphism, …
