Determination Of Timeliness Cost Using Method Of Average Workability Robability Based On Reliability Function Of Farm Tractors, Mohammad Poozesh, Javad Tarighi

Emirates Journal for Engineering Research

There is an optimum time for implementing field operation of a crop in each region. If the operation were accomplished sooner or later, it might cause a reduction in yield quantity and quality that is named timeliness cost. The purpose of this study is to survey the timeliness cost of harvesting operation of sugar cane based on reliability function of MF285 tractors operating in Debal Khazaei Agro-Industry Co. in Khuzestan, a province of Iran. MF285 tractors have low reliability in Iran, and due to their low reliability have an uncertainty in implementation of farm operation, though it is not …

Elevated In-Soil Co2 Affects Physiology And Growth Of Pinus Densiflora And Quercus Variabilis Seedlings Under An Artificial Co2 Release Experiment, Hyunjun Kim, Seung Hyun Han, Seongjun Kim, Hanna Chang, Yowhan Son

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

It is important to understand how woody species are affected by elevated in-soil CO2 for carbon capture and storage (CCS). A study was conducted to analyze the effects of artificially released in-soil CO2 on the physiology and growth of 4-year-old Pinus densiflora and 3-year-old Quercus variabilis seedlings. Approximately 7.9 kg CO2 plot-1 d-1 was released at a depth of 0.5 m over the period from 20 June to 20 July 2017. For both species, chlorophyll fluorescence and content, photosynthetic rate, and leaf size significantly decreased after the CO2 release. However, stomatal behavior varied between these species under the elevated in-soil …

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

The cyst nematode Heterodera latipons Franklin, 1969 (Nemata: Heteroderidae) is an economically important sedentary plant-parasitic nematode which limits the production of cereal crops around the world. It is an important pest on wheat and can be found globally in different growing areas, especially in the Mediterranean region. Developing an understanding of its physiological behavior (senescence, quiescence, and cryptobiosis), development [second-stage juveniles (J2) and immature and mature females], and population dynamics under field conditions is needed to create an appropriate control strategy. The experiments were conducted at Karaisalı, a semiarid region in Adana Province, and at Derik, an arid region in …

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

Grape is one of the most common crop plants in the world, and Turkey is seventh in fresh grape production. The seedless Sultani grape (Vitis vinifera L.) produced in Manisa is famous worldwide. The determination of antioxidant properties and phenolic substance levels, as well as investigation of the effects of different drying processes on these levels in grapes, is important in terms of revealing their contribution to health. Additionally, determining the levels of pesticide residues in fruit is another important issue for health. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the levels of pesticide residues and antioxidant substances …

Spruce Bark Beetles As A Biological Waste That Can Be Processed In A Biogas Plant, Jiri Rusin, Silvia Mudroncekova, Marek Barta, Katerina Chamradova

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

Biogas plays an important role in reducing the amount of biowaste that is converted to methane which is usable by multiple pathways in the energy sector. Bark beetles are among the most important pests of spruce forests in Europe. Principal measures of managing bark beetle populations include trapping them with pheromone traps. Biomass of bark beetles collected by the traps constitutes a waste of forest resources that could potentially be processed in biogas plants. The aim of this study was to provide information about the trapping of bark beetles by pheromone traps in Tatra National Park during 2005-2018 and to …

Public Accountability In Regulatory Governance, Christine Mae D. Hernando, Jan 2020

Public Accountability In Regulatory Governance, Christine Mae D. Hernando,

Journal of Public Affairs and Development

Assessing public accountability to improve public service delivery, local governance, and development has been an increasing global concern. The discourse and practice of accountability has been integrated in many disciplines such as public administration, political science, organizational development, and environmental management. But while some studies focus on accountability assessment in specific areas of public management and related concerns, the current academic literature of accountability reveals the paucity of studies on accountability assessment models in regulatory governance. This paper presents a review of relevant literature on public accountability, regulation and regulatory governance; issues and concerns affecting regulatory governance; and assessment perspectives …

Turkish Journal of Agriculture and Forestry

The regulation of auxin (indole-3-acetic acid, IAA) level in plants is a complex mechanism and the concept is not completely understood. There are many lines of evidence suggesting that amino acid conjugates of IAA play a vital role in auxin homeostasis, but the involved plant enzymes are still under investigation. In the present study, the alteration in the levels of auxin and its conjugates in the different physiological stages and organs, as well as its role in flower bud abscission in Pistacia vera L., were investigated. The levels of the auxin and its conjugates, such as IAA, indole butyric acid …
