Ascochyta blight, caused by Ascochyta rabiei (Pass.) Lab., is the most important disease in the chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) in many countries, including Turkey. Efforts to control the disease were made using host-plant resistance as the most efficient and economical way. A total of 41 exotic genotypes were evaluated for resistance to A. rabiei and also yield and yield criteria near Antalya in the west Mediterranean region of Turkey in the 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 seasons.
