Exposure to electromagnetic radiation (ER) with radio frequency is one of the environment's most common and fastest-growing human factors. Therefore, due to the increasing global growth of telecommunication towers and Wi-Fi waves, the possibility of positive or negative effects of Wi-Fi electromagnetic waves (WEW) is essential for the quality and quantity parameters of plants. Evaluation Of Fatty Acid Compositions And Some Seed Characters Of Common Wild Plant Species Of Turkey, Muhammet Tonguç, Sabri̇ Erbaş

Seeds of 14 commonly found plant species from 3 different families (Brassicaceae, Dipsacaceae, and Asteraceae) were investigated for 1000-seed weights (g), total oil (%), total protein (%), total soluble sugar contents (TSS; mg g^{-1}), and fatty acid compositions (%). Correlation coefficients of fatty acids from different families were investigated, as well. Palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic, linolenic, eicosenoic, and erucic acids were present in varying amounts. Within the family Brassicaceae, only Cardaria draba did not contain eicosenoic and erucic acids, while species of the Asteraceae and Dipsacaceae did not contain linolenic, eicosenoic, or erucic acids. Determinate growth habit in sesame is not available in nature originally. The character was a mutant induced by gamma rays and has the potential to make possible mechanised harvesting in sesame by enabling synchronous flowering. This experiment was carried out to determine the yield and oil contents of jojoba populations that were derived from a base population raised from seed in Antalya between 1999 and 2001. In the first year 59 types were evaluated, and 19 promising types were determined. In the second and third years experiments were conducted on these 19 types. Chilling, insect and disease damage was not seen during the experiment periods. However, some plants were dead where water ponded after heavy rains. Oil Content And Oil Quality Properties Of Some Grape Seeds, Ni̇lgün Göktürk Baydar, Murat Akkurt

In the present study, the oil contents and some oil quality properties of seeds taken from 18 grape cultivars were examined. The results showed that the oil concentration of seeds ranged from 11.6 to 19.6%. Grape seeds were rich in oleic and linoleic acids, ranging from 17.8 to 26.5% and 60.1 to 70.1%, respectively. The degree of unsaturation in the grape seed oil was over 86%, and the average concentration of total tocopherol in oil was around 454 mg/kg.
