From Theory To Practice: Simulating Zero Trust Architecture With Python For Cybersecurity, Pankaj R. Chandre, Bhagyashree D. Shendkar, Sulochana Sagar Madachane, Nikita Kulkarni, Sayalee Deshmukh

ASEAN Journal on Science and Technology for Development

The increasing complexity and frequency of cyber threats have necessitated the adoption of advanced security models, such as Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA). ZTA runs on the tenet that no entity whether inside or outside the network should be trusted by default, in contrast to conventional perimeter-based security solutions. This paper describes a thorough method for simulating and implementing Zero Trust Architecture in Python. We examine the essential elements and procedures of ZTA, such as identity verification, access control, and continuous monitoring, through a thorough analysis and step-by-step manual. The simulation shows how ZTA works to ensure strong network security and …

ASEAN Journal on Science and Technology for Development

A multi-label pattern classification system tries to predict the set of class labels of a test example by learning from the training examples with the relevant label sets. Classification that involve datasets having multiple labels found immense of applications in pattern analysis tasks involving image, music and video. A test sample can be labeled to indicate different objects, people, music categories or concepts. Classification problems involving data having multiple labels, have to consider training dataset associated with variety of labels. Multi-label extensions of popular algorithms, kNN and Support Vector Machine (SVM) called Multi-label kNN (ML-kNN) and Ranking-SVM are commonly used …

ASEAN Journal on Science and Technology for Development

The Water Quality Index (WQI) is an essential metric for evaluating the usability of surface water resources, particularly in ecologically sensitive and high-demand areas like the Panch Prayag belt of Uttarakhand, India. This region, comprising five major pilgrimage towns—Devaprayag, Nandprayag, Vishnuprayag, Karnaprayag, and Rudraprayag—faces seasonal fluctuations in water quality due to both natural and anthropogenic pressures. In this study, water samples were collected from 2021 to 2023 across pre-monsoon, monsoon, and post-monsoon seasons, and the WQI was computed using the Canadian Water Quality Index (CWQI 1.0). Results revealed that WQI values ranged from 36 to 45 across locations and seasons, …

Numerical Modeling Of Performance And Phenomena In A Single Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell, Doan Nguyen Cong, Hiep Nguyen Ha

ASEAN Journal on Science and Technology for Development

One of the methods to protect our environment is to convert the fuel's chemical energy directly into electricity, bypassing the fuel's combustion process. This method is implemented in devices called fuel cells. Among them, the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is widely used in practice because it has outstanding advantages such as high power density and efficiency, low operating temperature and noise, compactness, fast start-up, and, most importantly, only releases water, entirely safe for the environment. The paper presents a method for selecting materials for manufacturing PEMFC components, making a single PEMFC model based on the materials chosen, then …

Analysing Sound Characteristics Of Cello And Violin Using Fast Fourier Transform, Sinin Hamdan, Khairul Anwar Mohamad Said, Ahmad Faudzi Musib, Marini Sawawi, Aaliyawani Ezzerin Sinin

ASEAN Journal on Science and Technology for Development

The unique sound characteristics of music are based on multiple harmonic frequencies that exist within the sound waves. Through Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) software, the wave can be broken down into frequency and amplitude components. Spectrum analysis can be used quantitatively to describe these sound characteristics. In this paper, the frequency range present in the spectrum and the average intensity of the first 10 high notes in the sound are used to classify the sound characteristics of the cello and violin. This is done by generating a frequency (x-axis) and amplitude (y-axis) graph for the sounds of the cello and …

An Experiment Study On Implementing Syngas On A Small Generator Set, Bui Van Chinh, Khong Vu Quang, Khanh Nguyen Duc Oct 2024

An Experiment Study On Implementing Syngas On A Small Generator Set, Bui Van Chinh, Khong Vu Quang, Khanh Nguyen Duc

ASEAN Journal on Science and Technology for Development

This paper presents an experiment on syngas's influence on the performance and pollutant characteristics of a mechanical diesel engine generator set. Using syngas as an external fuel is good for medium and light loads of less than 80%. While a moderate substitution of syngas will contribute to good performance at high loads, a larger level of syngas provided may degrade engine performance. The brake-specific energy consumption rises as the replacement syngas flow increases. Using syngas as an external fuel to substitute for a part of the diesel might cause the engine to perform unstablely. The more syngas replacements, the greater …

On-Site Estimation Of Total Sugars In Flavored Milk Using A Glucometer, Erwin Oliver V. Fundador, Karyn Thea E. Rivera, Kriza Faye A. Calumba, Noreen Grace V. Fundador Jan 2024

On-Site Estimation Of Total Sugars In Flavored Milk Using A Glucometer, Erwin Oliver V. Fundador, Karyn Thea E. Rivera, Kriza Faye A. Calumba, Noreen Grace V. Fundador

ASEAN Journal on Science and Technology for Development

Sugar has been linked to obesity and chronic diseases. Unfortunately some "healthy products," such as flavored milk, contain high sugar. In the Philippines, such an issue is made worse by local brands not putting nutritional labels on their products. Thus, a cheap, home-based method to measure total sugars should be beneficial. In this paper, we have shown that after incubation with invertase and lactase, a glucometer can be used to measure total sugars in flavored milk on-site. All experiments except the weighing of invertase and lactose were done in a home setting for actual proof of concept. The total sugar …

Equipment Performance Cost Optimization Using Machine Learning (A Surface Condenser Case Study), Firdaus Basheer, Mohamed Saleem Haja Nazmudeen, Fadzliwati Mohiddin, Elango Natrajan

ASEAN Journal on Science and Technology for Development

Equipment performance assessment or prediction has usually been done using the conventional approach. Organization is often too busy to focus on improvement opportunities for equipment performance. Opportunities identifications are heavily reliant on expert opinion and the methods used often vary from one person to another depending on the knowledge they possess. The benefits of simplistic and realistic equipment performance prediction would significantly improve maintenance costs and hence could help to reduce the total operating cost of the asset. In this research work, a surface condenser was used as a case study. The solution proposed in this research work is to …
