The Land Snail Fauna Of Mut District (Mersin Province, Turkey), Ümi̇t Kebapçi, Mehmet Zeki̇ Yildirim, İskender Gülle, Mustafa Öztop, Duygu Ceren Çağlan Jan 2012

The Land Snail Fauna Of Mut District (Mersin Province, Turkey), Ümi̇t Kebapçi, Mehmet Zeki̇ Yildirim, İskender Gülle, Mustafa Öztop, Duygu Ceren Çağlan

Turkish Journal of Zoology

The land snail fauna of the Mut District was surveyed during the spring (April-May) of 2008. A total of 31 species and subspecies-9 (29%) of them endemics-belonging to 26 genera and 14 families were determined from 41 localities. Dominant families were Enidae, Orculidae, and Hygromiidae. Humidity, vegetation, and habitat type were the determinants of species richness in the study area. Species composition, according to cluster and multivariate analyses, was also found to be affected by the altitude factor.

Further Sem Assessment Of Radular Characters Of The Limpets Patella Caerulea Linneaus 1758 And P. Rustica Linneaus 1758 (Mollusca: Gastropoda) From Antalya Bay, Turkey, Beri̇a Falakali Mutaf, Deni̇z Akşi̇t Jan 2009

Further Sem Assessment Of Radular Characters Of The Limpets Patella Caerulea Linneaus 1758 And P. Rustica Linneaus 1758 (Mollusca: Gastropoda) From Antalya Bay, Turkey, Beri̇a Falakali Mutaf, Deni̇z Akşi̇t

Turkish Journal of Zoology

This paper aims to elucidate the structure and design of radulae of 2 species of limpet, namely Patella caerulea and P. rustica. Samples were examined by light microscope and SEM. Although the general formula is the same, the pattern of each dentition differed between the 2 species. General morphology and histology of odontophore showed structural significance of the organ, suggesting a further study to confirm ecological choice of the genus at different intertidal levels.

The Gastropod Fauna And Their Abundance, And Some Physicochemical Parameters Of Lake Gölbaşı (Hatay, Turkey), Hülya Şerefli̇şan, M. Zeki̇ Yildirim, Menderes Şerefli̇şan

Turkish Journal of Zoology

An investigation was carried out on the native gastropod species in Lake Gölbaşı, Hatay. During the research 3 species belonging to the subclass Pulmonata (Gyraulus piscinarum, Radix labiata, Anisus leucostoma) were detected along with 9 species of the subclass Orthogastropoda (=Prosobranchia) including Theodoxus jordani, Semisalsa contempta, Semisalsa longiscata, Bithynia phialensis, Valvata saulcyi, Valvata piscinalis, Melanoides tuberculatus, Melanopsis praemorsa ferussaci, Melanopsis costata costata. These gastropod species were collected from 4 stations chosen in the lake. Furthermore, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, pH, and temperature were measured at the sampling sites.
