Turkish Journal of Zoology

Pupae of the pistachio twig borer moth (Kermania pistaciella Amsel (Lep.: Tineidae)) were collected in the Şahinbey and Nizip-Alahacı regions of Gaziantep in February and March 2017. The pupae were kept in cages and parasitoids from Cheloninae (Hymenoptera, Braconidae) were obtained. Chelonus chetini Beyarslan & Şahan sp. nov. is described as a new species for science. The new species is described and the figures of its diagnostic characters are given.

New Species And New Records Of Aphelinus Dalman (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea: Aphelinidae) From Lagodekhi Reserve (Sakartvelo - Georgia), With Diversity And Distribution Along An Elevational Gradient, George Japoshvili, Levan Mumladze

Turkish Journal of Zoology

The aim of the present study was to investigate species diversity and distribution of Aphelinus species in an elevational gradient in the Lagodekhi Reserve (Sakartvelo - Georgia) throughout a growing season. Two species of Aphelinus Dalman, 1820 (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae), A. humilis Mercet and A. thomsoni Graham, are recorded for the first time from Georgia and the Caucasus and two species (A. lagodekhiensis sp. nov. and A. sugonjaevi sp. nov.) are described as new to science. To facilitate species identification we have developed a key to the females of all 24 species of Aphelinus currently known from the Middle East and …

A New Brachineurini Genus And Two New Species(Diptera: Cecidomyiidae: Cecidomyiinae) From Yunnan, China, Ke-Long Jiao, Hao Wang, Wen-Jun Bu

Turkish Journal of Zoology

A new free-living genus of the mycophagous tribe Brachineurini, Loborrhizomyia gen. nov., and its type species (Loborrhizomyia phaneroectata sp. nov.) and another new species (Loborrhizomyia aphanata sp. nov.) are described from the Caiyang River Nature Reserve, Pu?er, Yunnan, China. The new genus is characterized in the tribe Brachineurini by the unique gonostylus having a ventral lobe protruding to the distal. The taxonomic status of the new genus and two new species is discussed with a comparison between the other related groups and an updated key to all known Brachineurini genera including the new genus is provided.

Description Of Pseudoameiropsis Suphankaraytugi Sp. Nov.(Copepoda: Harpacticoida: Ameiridae) With The First Report Of The Genus Pseudoameiropsis Pallares, 1982 Outside Of The South Atlantic Ocean, Serdar Sönmez Jan 2019

Description Of Pseudoameiropsis Suphankaraytugi Sp. Nov.(Copepoda: Harpacticoida: Ameiridae) With The First Report Of The Genus Pseudoameiropsis Pallares, 1982 Outside Of The South Atlantic Ocean, Serdar Sönmez

Turkish Journal of Zoology

A new species of the monotypic genus Pseudoameiropsis was found in samples collected from the eastern Mediterranean coast of Turkey. The new species can be separated from P. argentinus by the armature formula in the endopod of the second to fourth swimming legs (0, 1, 021; 0, 1, 121; 0, 1, 121 in P. argentinus, but 1, 1, 221; 1, 1, 221; 1, 1, 221 in the new species), and armature complement in the third exopodal segment of the fourth swimming leg (with eight setae/spines in the new species, but seven elements in P. argentinus). The general shape and armature …

Comalcandona Gibsoni Sp. Nov. (Ostracoda, Candonidae) From Comal Spring, Texas, Usa, Okan Külköylüoğlu

Turkish Journal of Zoology

A new species, Comalcandona gibsoni sp. nov., was found from Comal Springs, Comal County, Texas, USA. The new species has four horn-like projections located on the antero- and posterodorsal ends of the valves and this unique character separates this species from Comalcandona tressleri. Some other distinguishing differences in chaetotaxy (e.g., position, length, and number of setae on the segments) can also be seen in the soft body parts (e.g., absence of gamma seta on mandibula, duckbill shape of clasping organ of first leg, numbers of whorls in Zenker?s organ). Based on the differences, Comalcandona gibsoni sp. nov. is proposed as …
